I searched "Jerry Moore" on Spotify and found this
http://static.boomkat.com/images/104890/333.jpg
which is funny cuz what I'd meant to search was "Jerry Williams" (a la the top of the 2012 turntable thread,
I want to hear what's behind that grin) but I must have read about this other Jerry on here somewhere cuz ESP.
Anyway, I like the Ballad of Birmingham, but it led me to this:
http://lightintheattic.net/system/release_images/0000/4342/JimSullivan_thumb_325.jpg?1300462988
which I've listened to a couple times a day since. Makes me want to watch Easy Rider again.

Trip Maker, Sunday, 3 June 2012 19:32 (twelve years ago) link

That Jerry Moore looks tough! Imo Jerry Williams doesn't have a bad record, he should've been a well known name.

This Jerry Williams record could be the best 6 dollars you could spend Jerry Williams Group!

JacobSanders, Sunday, 3 June 2012 20:48 (twelve years ago) link

thanks for the tip. That is a great cover. It's been a really long time since I bought anything on ebay.

Trip Maker, Sunday, 3 June 2012 21:24 (twelve years ago) link

Oddly that record is almost the same as their second High Mountain record called Canyon except the last song is different. both were released by columbia the same year. The High Mountain record sells for more, and everyone thinks the group is called Canyon for some reason, but Down Home Boy has the better alternative song. Canyon does have a nice cover.

WOW these Can Tapes

Played them non-stop in the car since I got them. Live "Spoon" - raaaaaaaaah.
Yesterday my car broke down though, the loan car has a cassette player! Maybe I have some Can in my old tape box..

willem, Sunday, 24 June 2012 09:04 (eleven years ago) link

i really appreciate hearing the early 'process' recordings; fascinating. and you know, Jaki is jaw-dropping throughout. i like the box/packaging too. going to create some storage conundrums though.
