i mean, there's a couple shorter SONG moments on the woodsist record, but the rest of em are pretty jammy.

holy shit this album. first 3/4 are straight up krauty psych jams. mellow with flute, chanted vocals, drones, eastern melodies. last song is just amazing mellow japanese funk. and it's a fairly cheap (less than $10) record. definitely suggested for everyone.

the featured band is minoru muraoka & his new dimensions which did this track, one of the funkiest japanese jazz tracks ever.

this record is much weirder than I expected, just getting to the end of this totally freaked version of "Johnny Too Bad".

listening now for the first time -- lemme get back to you in a few

69, Monday, 18 July 2011 17:39 (fourteen years ago)

chadabe is good, but definitely not as good as rhythms. the a-side is spirituals sung by irene oliver, and then like somehow "sensitively enhanced" w electronics that modify her voice. they're good, but the source material and process feel a little too academic or something. not as warm a beating heart as my favorite lovely music stuff. the b-side is more process music, and just solo (though with lots of cybernetics/feedbacky/automated stuff), and a little more up my alley.
