LOLOLOL best comment from rate your music about this record:

"It's hard to fault anything on her three albums from the 70s, but they are painfully bland, middle-of-the-road acoustic guitar instrumentals with hardly any distinctive or notable moments. Sadly this Philadelphia artist with slight connections to Mandrake Memorial has passed away recently (2008/2009)."

alan licht -- sink the aging process

69, Thursday, 14 July 2011 20:24 (fourteen years ago)

I dug the Purling Hiss show I saw which consisted of songs and some very flash guitar moves (fucking dive-bomb solos).
I'm not as into the lp on Permanent that is just ENDLESS PSYCH JAMMING, tho.
I mean, I like endless psych jamming A LOT but for whatever reason it just doesn't really thrill me. I should probably hear more Purling Hiss.

Trip Maker, Thursday, 14 July 2011 20:31 (fourteen years ago)

i mean, there's a couple shorter SONG moments on the woodsist record, but the rest of em are pretty jammy.

holy shit this album. first 3/4 are straight up krauty psych jams. mellow with flute, chanted vocals, drones, eastern melodies. last song is just amazing mellow japanese funk. and it's a fairly cheap (less than $10) record. definitely suggested for everyone.

the featured band is minoru muraoka & his new dimensions which did this track, one of the funkiest japanese jazz tracks ever.
