this guy i know was nice enough to refurbish my sweet old philips 212 electronic turntable and i've been having a ball opening up choice sealed classical albums and taking them for a test drive. but right now i'm jamming the pristine original german pressing of unknown pleasures that i only play on special occasions. wowee does it ever sound great.

Hell yeah. For a "mature" or whatever record it's pretty fierce.

i do NOT like it. i really thought his experiments w the midi stuff were novel and contributed to the overall shittiness (read:radness) of some of the earlier singles/CDRs, but this record feels weird and stilted and too fussy. imma give it another chance, and i do like the last song (and appreciate that the "song" before it is called AUTOMATIC WRITING), but ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

new 3LP thing is singles/demos/unreleased, and is uniformly awesome. the first two albums are the ur-documents, and deserve the reputation they have for being THE BEST. annie got em pretty cheap a couple years ago, although i think they are technically OOP.

Nice touch having the pen in his shirt pocket

clearly not "in hand." false advertising.

umm maybe he has two

Pens? or Pockets? or Hands?

We've no proof from the picture that his arms don't end in bleeding stumps just below the elbow.

I'm Street but I Know my Roots (sonofstan), Tuesday, 24 May 2011 18:20 (fifteen years ago)

maybe he's part of the pen15 club?

Hadn't pulled this (Los Llamarada Take the Sky S-S 2008) out in a while. I remember being on the fence about it, but it sounded amazing last night in the candlelight.
It is one of the inspirations for my radio show this week.
