oh man that yips album is the best

69, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 17:13 (fifteen years ago)

it's pretty great

did they reissue it with a new cover or something? most of the GIS results are a different shot of the 2 birds on the back sleeve. the one above is what I have.

dmr, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 17:44 (fifteen years ago)

I also listened to Yo La "Painful" and Dwight Yoakam's "Guitars Cadillacs etc"

dmr, Tuesday, 5 April 2011 17:45 (fifteen years ago)

the CD cover is the birds

i think all the kurt vile stuff is pretty great. god is saying this to you... is probably my favorite, but hunchback, constant hitmaker, and the 7"s are really good, too. the square shells 12" and childish prodigy LP are my least favorite, but even those have a few jams each -- probably worth gettin it all -- none of it is too hard to find...

That Alps LP looks awesome. Is it a gatefold that folds into a pyramid or I my screen playing tricks on me? I loved III, want to check the new one soon...

willem, Tuesday, 12 April 2011 09:30 (fifteen years ago)

...is my screen...

willem, Tuesday, 12 April 2011 09:31 (fifteen years ago)

i love that jerry corbitt album. i put one of those songs on my world famous columbus mix back in 2005.

Christopher Columbus Said The World Is Like A Ball Spinning Round In Endless Circles It's Not Flat At All People Laughed And Said You Poor Fool Now What's Your Game And He Said You're Never Gonna Mak

okay, not really famous, but sang freud got a copy of it. so it might be famous on long island.

my LRS had a copy of that jerry corbitt record. i really wanted to pick it up but it was too expensive. "Out of the Question" is super rad. crazy energy and some synths over really nice folk. kinda reminds me of jake holmes or something

jaxon, Tuesday, 12 April 2011 17:20 (fifteen years ago)

the corbitt is a weird rekkerd for sure. i was expecting some rural folky thing and was faced with more psychedelic action than i could rlly handle at the moment. i'm gonna try it again tomorrow. i did like it though.

this new UV race record is really really good. i cant decide which i like best among the newish punkish melbourne bands...
