I have heard this International Harvester before, but never really paid much attention - going down a goddamn treat right now, though.

yeah i dl/ed a ton of the list, and this is reminding me why i hate doing that because i have realized that i only actually listen to stuff if i can hold it in my hands - so this is awesome.
― O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:13 (fifteen years ago)

― scott seward, Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:16 (fifteen years ago)
jjusten, i don't do it EVERY week but maybe 75%-80% of the time. you can look in our show archives and it's pretty easy to figger out which shows are mine.

'crazy ian'
that should be your deejay name. all the best deejays have catchy nicknames.

― scott seward, Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:19 (fifteen years ago)
btw when i say i appreciate you guys listening i REALLY do.. we consistently have the lowest number of listeners. i think that means i'm doing something right/ most weeks i play hippie rock & singer songwriter stuff with only occasionally 'weird' records sprinkled in
― not everything is a campfire (ian), Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:20 (fifteen years ago)
like i always feel like i should cram him down the throat of all my tape beetles and negativland friends (no offense to either) but he isnt really wacky enough
xpost oh tbf i will happily listen to hippie singer songwritery stuff as well
― O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:21 (fifteen years ago)
nww list for the win, if you ask me. you could make several great radio shows just out of this material. it lends itself to good radio. its radiowave music.
― scott seward, Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:24 (fifteen years ago)
wait, are you playing all vinyl?
― scott seward, Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:25 (fifteen years ago)
yeah i brought too many rekkerds. definitely have enough stuff for a sequel. i'm not playing any of the great postpunk, RIO, brit improv etc.
― not everything is a campfire (ian), Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:25 (fifteen years ago)

― not everything is a campfire (ian), Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:26 (fifteen years ago)

(an aside: if you ever find something from that (SPECIAL SECRET THING) i sent you and want to play it on your show you have my blessing. also i should prob digitize the rest of that stuff. too busy getting married and crap at the moment. but when i do i will send more stuff yer way)
― O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:27 (fifteen years ago)
Hey, you can like Tape Beatles and Negativland and Steve Reich, you know.
Anyway, I shall listen to the rest on the archive tomorrow, and hie me to sleep now.
― emil.y, Wednesday, 23 February 2011 04:27 (fifteen years ago)
no i like/love all of them, its just, steve reich is more work than them or residents, i have to kinda work people in slowly. the same way i use sylvie and babs as a gateway drug for NWW stuff. which never works.

This just in from Ed the head Hardy, pre-order from Eclipse RecordsGhedalia Tazartes - Granny Awards LP $26.99 (Alga Marghen)"alga marghen was the first label to issue on CD the 4 record LPs that Ghedalia Tazartes privately produced between the late 1970s and early 1980s, therefore contributing to the diffusion of this music among the new generations. At the same time Ghedalia Tazartes' music defined the high standard level of the alga marghen label in its early days. These great recordings are still available in their original CD editions and no surprise that alga marghen has now the privilege to bring you the pleasure of listening to a previously unpublished LP recently discovered in the artist's archives. Side 1 features 'Ferme ta gueule, Zarathustra' (i.e. 'Shut Up, Zarathustra') a long track constructed by several fragments recorded in the early 1980s that would have later composed, with different editings, some of the best parts of 'Une eclipse totale de soleil'. On side 2 we find five shorter tracks titled 'Whatever', 'Works', 'Singing', 'Wild', 'My Rock Ghedalia'. Recorded in the artist's own studio in his anhydridic Paris, these pieces are based on materials pre-dating Ghedalia Tazartes first LP Diasporas and were re-elaborated in the early 1980s to be included in this lost work of art. Ghedalia Tazartes is a nomad. The author and his doubles work without a net, freely connecting the sounds, the rhythms, his voice, his voices. He is also one of the most original artists in the sonic art scene. In these last years when cheap low-level editions are produced by kitsch-on-demand labels which can nothing but copy, falsificate and propose expensive tasteless boxsets, alga marghen brings you the 'original' edition of this wonderful music. Edition limited to 450 copies."
