hey scott. those Nite Liters records are great. i bought them from noise musician joe colley of Crawl Unit. he owns a rad niche magazine store in oakland (with a particularly secretive ilxor's ex). they were cheapish ($6), but are both in pretty gnarly condition. one has mold on the sleeve and the other's really crackly. but they're awesome. heavy funk. weird soul. wordless vocals. i guess they're the "instrumental" version of New Birth, so you know how freaky they can get. i mentioned on the Harvey Fuqua RIP thread that i had pulled them out that morning after not listening to them for over a year and i hadn't even seen that he'd passed away. weird coincidence. i don't think i've seen them ever again. also weirdly pulled out a funky gospel record fuqua produced this weekend.

^ i love that Beat Happening 45. i think it's their best record. greg sage production, too! and 'where were you' is in my pantheon of best 45s ever.

re: Algebra Mothers--i've had it for probably 20 years! i was going through boxes of 45s to possibly sell on eBay. as usual, i've decided to keep most of them. even though i hardly ever play them they're harder for me to part with.
