I actually used to own that exact Weill/Milhaud LP once! Just bought it randomly (& cheaply), I'm sure. Is it considered some kinda definitive recording? If so, I was probably really stupid to get rid of it.

i just got this and the recent 7", and really like em -- anyone have any thoughts about other/older sun araw? ian, i think i remember that you do. sometimes the not not fun stuff strikes me as a little weak/dilute, so i avoided hearing him for a time...

is that the 'Three Sides Live' US with "Paperlate" and so forth, or the UK with the extra side of live stuff? My local had teh UK version a couple months ago, and I didn't pick it up. Thought to myself "I'll get it next time." Of course, it was gone. God I hate that.

can't stay away from this album for some reason. Almost a year since I saw them recreate it, with Larry Carlton in the house. One of the greatest nights of my life. Actually, that whole Steely Dan residency in Chicago (nights playing 'Royal Scam', 'Aja', and 'Gaucho' in their entirety) was one of the most pleasurable weekends of my life. Something like that will never happen again.

it's the US w/ the 4th studio side, i was/am a big fan of Abacab. "Me and Sarah Jane" is the last great Genesis tune imho.

the CITY CENTER cover of "box of rain" is definitely the low-point here. it sounds like "box of rain" in the style of "ripple" or "brokedown palace." i obviously love all those songs, but it took all the snappy pop-rock of the original away. no drums! not everything is a campfire, and phil lesh knew it.
