What's the most that you guys have spent on a record? I bought Like Flies On Sherbert for $36, which probably isn't much, but please bear in mind that I am broke grad student. I considered buying Cambodian psych thing for around $50 but felt horribly guilty. I try to mostly buy cheap records.

Yeah I think the most I've spent is about $30 or so. It's hard when there are so many awesome cheap records that I don't have and I am so poor.

nah, i paid $321 for the folkways michael hurley record -- i sold a rare pavement record for $150, a couple other doubles for another $50, my gf gave me $50 towards it for our anniversary, and i had $10 or $15 in ebay bucks, so it only really felt like $60-70.

what's yr method?

yeah, chuck, I picked up the Detective after reading you guys on the Expiry thread. I was always somewhat curious about them because of the Swan Song connection, but always passed it over even though it's a perennial dollar record. Well, this time I decided to pay the dollar and I'm really glad I did! pretty top-heavy -- the first two tunes are probably my favorite. But a keeper nonetheless. Des Barres's blatant adoption of Robert Plant's style is pretty funny -- he didn't sound that way on the Silverhead records, did he?? It's been a while since I played mine.

anything worthwhile on that Aerosmith other than "Lightning Strikes"? that's the only 'smith album I don't own (and have never heard in its entirety) up through 'Done With Mirrors'
