listening to bridget st. john songs for the gentle man and its nice but i keep going back and forth about whether i should keep/sell. it's an easy sell. i dunno...i like it, but do i really need it? (which isn't a good question to ask if you are me. i'm always keeping stuff that i don't really need. i mean, what does the word "need" really mean anyway.)

Yeah, I do too. So how does that work -- would the original really plummet in worth (whatever the worth of it is now, I have no idea) just because some hokey reissue came out a quarter century later? That seems weird to me, though I yeah, I suppose it would reduce demand somewhat. Just hard to imagine that people would think of the reissue as "real."

i keep playing kyuss ...and the circus leaves town on tape. like, all daay long. so, no vinyl.

gonna go to mystery train in a little bit. they are having a 14th anniversary party with dred foole and others playing. and cake! not the band cake. the food.

also gonna trade rekkerds for rekkerds. i've never traded with josh before. i'm gonna bring him some good stuff.

Josh is a nice guy in my limited experience dealing with him, and whenever i see mystery train stickers on stores the prices seem reasonable! so, that's cool. dredd foole live can be amazing or a real ordeal.

mystery train party was fun! all the usual suspects were there. the music started too late for the kids though, so we missed that. but the cake was really good. i really like it there. and i really like josh and cynthia. they are fighting the good fight. record stores dropping like flies around here. first dynamite and now most recently platterpus. (which i had never actually been to.)

i don't know how freakfolkers will feel about this, but i ended up trading 6 or 7 fahey records for this:

cuz i've always wanted one. ever since i saw one in a philly record store in the 80's and then later at chuck's apartment in philly. but i never wanted to buy one online. vinyl is minty.

then i traded some other good stuff for some other random things. including a completely minty copy of the key of dreams by section 25 which i needed. and other hard rock/rural rock stuff.

and i actually got a cd! a new cd. can't remember the last time i got one of those. they had the search party reissue there and i couldn't resist. i love that thing.
