There have been malicious rumours that I sell stolen goods.

To protect my good name and reputation, I have documented below how and where I obtained the hanging chairs that I'm selling today.

Until January 2010 I had worked for one of Englands largest hammock makers for over 30 years.

Due to a misunderstanding at the 2009 xmas party I lost my job.

My boss's attractive 19 year old daughter having had too much to drink felt slightly unwell. So to protect her reputation I suggested that she should come with me to one of the upstairs offices to sober up.

Unfortunately while in the office she brought up most of the alcohol she had drunk and soiled her blouse and skirt in the process.

Not wanting her to get into trouble with her dad I suggested that she should quickly remove the soiled garments and said I would clean them in the washroom for her.

While removing her skirt, she slipped and fell over one of the desks. I immediately learnt over her to help her up.

At which point her father (My Boss) came into the office and got totally the wrong impression and sacked me on the spot.

About a month later, I was tidying up my bedside drawer when I found some keys to the warehouse that I had forgotten to return. So later that night (about 3am) I decided to return them.

When I got to the warehouse, I thought I'd better check if they were the correct keys (They were).

In the warehouse there were 100's of hanging chairs waiting for despatch to customers. Purely as a prank I thought I would hide them.

I hid them in my garden shed.

Now I want to return them, but I can't. My ex boss wouldn't believe it was just a prank. I haven't forgotten how he over reacted at the xmas party.

Now I'm forced to sell the bloody things on ebay.

right but I assume van smack wants that because it's the first pressing? like you could get an early single lp edition on Harvest that *does* have the EMI logo for a lot less than that listing is going for..

Van, Popsike has one going for around £33 recently, admittedly slightly less pristine than this one, so you never know...

Thanks for the heads up folks. I guess I could only dream that one day I could find a pristine copy of my favorite ayers album. Funds are tight right now.

One day I will find it somewhere at my local shops...

I am super happy right now because somehow Ebay Gods were on my side this week and I just got the Users - Sick Of You 7" on Raw Records (RAW 1!) as featured on Killed By Death #1 for £9.99 (the opening bid) - was totally expecting to get sniped in the last few seconds but no-one else bid on it! It's in totally great condition! WTF! Woo.

its always the summer of love on ebay. um, in the summer. all the kollege kids go surfing. there are people who won't sell stuff at all during the summer.

it's always funny when i sort of gamely big $50 or something on a record, thinking i'm going to splurge, and then the winning bid is like $500.

I had that the other day - really unexpectedly - bid on this Swedish indiepop 7" expecting to win it with a bid of like $30 - actually expecting to win it at like $10 - the fucker only went for $150.

It was Youth Will Understand EP by Free Loan Investments. It was probably a good few months ago now, thinking about it. No idea it was that sought after. Some joker's been trying to sell that and the Pretentious Girl EP for £300 each, strangely no-one's biting.

i had an opportunity to buy that FLI 45 back in the day, but i thought they sucked :( oh well

I bought their other 2 releases, course they're not worth anything. Both still in print AFAIK

i mean i just sent a 200 dollar record to some dude in france and it got there fine and this guy lives in brooklyn. eh, whatever. i started selling records on ebay in 1999 and only once in all that time did someone get a damaged record.

TONS of 'regular' rock records, but also cool psych & folk and some private pressings and stuff.

i know that vinylty guy, i've bought from him a buncha times. problem is, he has "fans" and watchers, so stuff that should sell for a lot cheaper ends up going for stupid prices, because idiots that watch his auctions get in bidding wars

i'm willing to bet i'm one of a small handful of ppl interested in his grayson & whitter LP, so i'm hoping i get that one cheap. i put in a comedy bid on the people's victory orchestra & chorus LP but i really don't expect i'll get that.
