i think ilm still has some kinda dumb love/hate thing with the eagles. still, not as bad as the old days of ilm when all the "poptimists" would have fainted at the sight of an eagles album. i have no problem with the fact that they were some of the scummiest scumbags whoever walked the planet, the albums rule so hard. art trumps real life.

oh, I guess "Midnight Flyer" is actually an Osborne Brothers song? sung by Randy. I guess I should have known that. I've actually never heard the Osborne Brothers. I should correct that.

Scott, did you buy that PSF Six Organs thing? or did someone bring it in to the store? seems like an off-beat choice for a first lp! Like it? I have a copy that I still need to listen to...

this cute couple came in the store today and asked if i wanted to sell copies on consignment. they live in town and they did the cover art for the album. so i bought one. and put four out for sale for them. they got paid in records.

i liked it. sounded nice today with the door open and the nice spring air coming in. i like the azul side too. never heard them either.

skylarking was one of the first things i ever got on cd when i got a cd player. or a cd player was given to me actually. i didn't actually buy a cd player with my own money until the 21st century. i always used to use people's old discmen plugged into my stereo. my dad bought me a cd boombox when i graduated from high school in 1987. i think it was 1987. it sounded really weird to me. the only CDs i loved the sound of in 1987 were this one and colour of spring and a monochrome set cd twofer. still have the monochrome set one! still sounds great. that thing is almost 25 years old. oh and the rykodisc samplers i had sounded really cool and fucked up. schoolly d and the residents!

so anyway forgot to mention that american pressings of skylarking on vinyl don't sound that good at all. too mushed up and muddy. even the vinyl is cheap and thin. double vinyl remaster would be nice.

you guys ever listen to george duke's 80's 101 north stuff? weird mix of quiet storm + new age.
