i think i put that jack hardy album out for sale here. mine has the blank cover too. though apparently there are some with homemade covers. he is the inventor of FASTFOLK. there was a good story on him somewhere not that long ago.

i had never thought too much about the song before that scene, but it really moved me?

I dunno, I always liked that song and "Big In Japan"; I'm clueless about Alphaville otherwise. (All I have by them is a CD called The Singles Collection that has only long and short versions of those two songs and two other ones!) Hasn't "Forever Young" been a staple at high school graduations for decades now, the way "We've Only Just Begun" used to be back in the old days? I liked it fine in Big Love, but just thought the show was using it like everybody else does.

as far as alphaville goes, all i need is that first album. i don't hate forever young, but maybe i've just heard it too much since it became a youth anthem. that whole album is so strong though. one of the great synthpop albums of the 80's.

i think im too young to have had that song at graduations :\
