i think 2010 is the PERFECT time for an all out ILX-wide doobie brothers reclamation project. such a great band in all their eras.

yeah, and their records all SOUND so amazing, thanks to Ted Templeman. I think that S/T Doobie Brothers record has to be the first thing he produced after leaving Harper's Bizarre, and he was already a master of the studio. that record is definitely the most folkie they got, they needed Tiran Porter to join before they really started rocking. He is such a joy to listen to play the bass

they do sound friggin' amazing. templeman was a genius. i like it all. does jaxon have this 12 inch?

as far as production goes, doobies were right up there with steely and the eagles. get a clean first pressing of any of their albums and it is all bliss.

surprisingly or not, i don't own a single doobies record. not that i don't enjoy them every time i hear them. i'll rectify that soon, i promise

ya, i think that's my fave of the 3. i don't have any solo walcotts, what are they like?

this one's good, but not as good as the codona records. don cherry's on all the recordings with him, along with abercrombie/danielsson/romao, so it's a good full-band sound, but the sitar and tabla are way more out front than in the codona stuff. a little drier, more minimal, but occasionally that makes it a little aimless?
