My eldest is 15 now and he has kind of decided that "home" is a place for him to crash, and get fed occasionally. It's making me kind of sad. I like that he's grown up and independent. And his whole attitude is so often combative and hectoring that it's frankly relieving sometimes when he's away. But I miss our little family nights, our dinners, our board games, our movie time. I knew that as soon as he left home, went to university etc, that this would happen, that those days would end. But this feels a bit soon!!

Sorry to hear Tracer, I remember those feelings well. Still kinda feel them a bit I'm sure. Of course you know in the end this is a good necessary phase of development but yeah hugs, I know these blues

I saw a meme thingy that said “My teen when I’m explaining something important” and it was a clip of Bill Withers singing “I know I know I know I know I know I know…” and it is the truest thing I have seen.
At its worst, I find myself counting down the time until my teen moves out. But when that happens I’ll probably be sad and crying, so oh well.

One of my favourite Viz letters ever btw runs something like "Pretend you're a teenager by slagging somebody off for 15 minutes and then asking them for a lift."

In the same proverbial boat with our younger one, Tracer -- down to the age. It's close to devastating.
Now off to find the Withers meme.
