monk! glad that story has a happy ending. we left sylvie's doll in oregon last summer, never to be seen again. she wasn't actually that upset, but it comes up every now and then. "is tallulah in oregon?"

I left my teddy bear a hotel when I was little once -- I was so sad for days and Mum must have called the hotel because they sent it to us, and idk exactly what happened behind the scenes but all I know is I came home from school and there was Bear sitting on the front door step waiting for me. Like he'd caught the bus to come see me or something.

Aw, Sylvie had a doll called Tallulah.

My Tallulah gave her sister a big plush monkey on Sunday night - christened Monko - to soften the blow of losing Monk. She'd bought it with her own money and had been saving it for Ava's birthday. On Tuesday I retrieved Monk from Network Rail's offices at Kings X station (and dropped off some chocolates off for the staff at the bookshop who'd found it) . That evening Monk met Monko for the first time - Lulu tried to formally introduce them but got a serious eye-roll from Ava. "They're BROTHERS, Lulu - I *think* they've met before, don't you?"

My little sister once threw a fish-shaped coin bag into the seal tank at Sea World. (It's more of a submerged arena where observers can stand around a round wall on street level and look down at the crazy dudes.)

My sister started bawling (she was 3 or 4) while the seals started bouncing the purse around to each other like it was nose soccer. Employees had this big long net and whenever they'd stick it in on one side, the seals would all bounce over to the other side.

Finally, some dude in a rubber suit gets in there and I guess the seals knew at this point that the fun was over because they dropped the purse.

Guy hands it back over to my mother and it smelled awful. My sister likely lost it within a month of getting home.

Aw bless, so tiny. You just can't believe they were ever that small. The other day Lulu dressed her plush bunny Bob in a top...that she wore herself in hospital on day 2. She thought we were joking when we told her. "No, it's play clothes for toys!"
