i dont think arsenal know yet

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 16:14 (four years ago) link

all this excitement has been nice but im reasonably certain that spurs finish tomorrow with lo celso and sessegnon in and eriksen cryin on the bench for a few games

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 16:15 (four years ago) link

David Luiz to Arsenal would be one of those astonishing transfers that would somehow manage to make every single party worse off.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 7 August 2019 16:42 (four years ago) link

except agent

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:05 (four years ago) link

Sessegnon, Lo Celso and Ndombele would represent a very good summer's business tbh. Pretty sure we'll take Llorente back as well.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:19 (four years ago) link

yeah i dont know what the idea behind all the messing the last week has been but those three and possibly a professional footballer at right back would have been a good wishlist.

idk about llorente, im not sure we use him and for my money troy parrott is ready for minutes.

not like llorente covers for kane injury anyway

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:20 (four years ago) link

Lukaku to Inter agreed

Number None, Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:21 (four years ago) link

his touch was going that far anyways

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:32 (four years ago) link

So, we'll be going into the season having lost two senior midfielders and a striker without replacing any of them

Greenwood better be the TBWP

Number None, Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:36 (four years ago) link

absolutely

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:39 (four years ago) link

Still a lot of nonsense banter about Al sorts of midfielders being on the move tbf

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:44 (four years ago) link

Wanayama, Khedira etc

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:44 (four years ago) link

believe that first one

derby will hardly loan us their new rb dye think

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 17:50 (four years ago) link

oh and I see Neres has signed a new contract. Shocker

Number None, Wednesday, 7 August 2019 18:14 (four years ago) link

Wanyama has a recurring knee injury, with which he's currently in the treatment room, and hasn't managed to string a proper run of games together in maybe two years. If he's going it's for something very nominal.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 7 August 2019 18:35 (four years ago) link

It's all agent/silly season bullshit but you end up living in fear until the window shuts

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 18:50 (four years ago) link

So, looks like Tierney is on his way to Arsenal after all. Bummer.

Euripedes' Trousers (Tom D.), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 19:50 (four years ago) link

well theres no need for that tom

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 20:16 (four years ago) link

Apparently that full back Man Utd bought from Crystal Palace is twice as good as him.

Euripedes' Trousers (Tom D.), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 20:50 (four years ago) link

apparently we have been sniffing around a troy parrott loan

plsss

imago, Wednesday, 7 August 2019 20:52 (four years ago) link

oh fuck off

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 21:28 (four years ago) link

really want him to be a different but not llorente option for us this year ffs

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Wednesday, 7 August 2019 21:29 (four years ago) link

Tottenham have this morning agreed a deal worth £25m for Ryan Sessegnon. @SamWallaceTel has the latest https://t.co/xLHEtqx73p pic.twitter.com/472alIAr0L

Tottenham close to reaching agreement to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala. Deal not done but clubs hopeful. #THFC stepped up interest after their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes ended over fee & Man Utd’s proposed move for Dybala was called off #JUVE #MUFC

really dont see it tbh

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Thursday, 8 August 2019 07:28 (four years ago) link

No, it would be the most surprising signing since Klinsmann, and with significantly higher barriers.

The only way it would work would be if Levy's decided the current wage structure is unsustainable. Realistically, idk if Harry Kane is going to be happy earning exactly half as much per week as Aaron Ramsey, for the next six years.

ShariVari, Thursday, 8 August 2019 07:32 (four years ago) link

Don't they have a ridiculous bonus system that means their real earnings are significantly higher than their weekly reported wage though?

I mean it seems implausible that they're going to get this far down the road and then go "oh, we didn't realise Dybala's wage demands were going to be so high" but who even knows. Maybe Levy is deluded enough to think he can boardroom hard man him into submission.

Matt DC, Thursday, 8 August 2019 07:49 (four years ago) link

Or it was all a bluff to get Betis to fold on lo Celso, idk.

ShariVari, Thursday, 8 August 2019 07:58 (four years ago) link

ive more concerns about him fitting tbh

weve moved up from salary caps and fees being a ceiling given progress and money saved the past few years

but cant see levy or poch chucking the bases for that progress out to start behaving in a way that has badly failed arsenal or utd recently

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Thursday, 8 August 2019 08:35 (four years ago) link

imo he'll go to utd now lukaku funds freed

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Thursday, 8 August 2019 09:08 (four years ago) link

Not a whisper of any business for us

Apart from dumping Rojo on Everton

Number None, Thursday, 8 August 2019 09:29 (four years ago) link

Still time for Ollie to register himself

Ah beaten to the punch

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 8 August 2019 09:54 (four years ago) link

bbc guy says that eriksen is on his way to carrington

Br. Des Shadows (NickB), Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:10 (four years ago) link

do they even have a football team?

levy'd

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:18 (four years ago) link

eriksen surely leaves, whether utd today or a european outfit later matters not

but lo celso/ndombele in, eriksen/wanyama out is neither a disaster nor a huge leap forward, regardless that it'll be painted as both

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:19 (four years ago) link

Lo Celso and Ndombele are several years younger than either and Ndombele is almost certainly a major upgrade on any of our central midfielders. Sessegnon looks like it's happening as well although he's obviously a work in progress I'm confident in Poch to work his magic on him.

Matt DC, Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:24 (four years ago) link

Twitter seems to think Sessegnon has hit problems.

Think I'm just going to turn the internet off until about half past five tonight.

groovypanda, Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:37 (four years ago) link

Why would anyone want to go to Arsenal, igi, but really why would Luiz want to?

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:37 (four years ago) link

can we start arguing about this season's thread title now so it's ready for tomorrow? would propose "Your old car is completely reliable, but you want a new one and two weeks later it breaks down" but it's a bit much

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:39 (four years ago) link

Throwing "Steve Bruce is the rock on which Newcastle's free flowing football finally flounders" up for consideration, stumbled on it somewhere

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:46 (four years ago) link

just been reminded that Leon Clarke is technically a Premier League footballer at the moment

seven against feebs (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 8 August 2019 10:50 (four years ago) link

You must be Joachim: Liverpool will not compete for the Gibraltar Premier Division 2020

phil neville jacket (darraghmac), Thursday, 8 August 2019 11:55 (four years ago) link

gah i've not been able to get this out of my head since hearing robyn in the co-op this morning, someone's going to have to fill in the blanks for me though:

paulo dybala / he's not the guy you're taking home / we'll just get _____ ____ on loan

Br. Des Shadows (NickB), Thursday, 8 August 2019 12:23 (four years ago) link

thank god andy carroll doesn't scan

Br. Des Shadows (NickB), Thursday, 8 August 2019 12:24 (four years ago) link

Looks like Sessegnon and Lo Celso are done.

Matt DC, Thursday, 8 August 2019 14:43 (four years ago) link

I honestly couldn't tell you how good lo Celso is and i've probably seen him 15 times. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does, though.

Mooy and Maupay to Brighton is good business imo.

ShariVari, Thursday, 8 August 2019 14:50 (four years ago) link

Sarr to Watford too.
