So tonight, in Major League Soccer, my team, Orlando City, were awarded a PK.

They went to VAR

Ruled that TWO MINUTES PRIOR that we had actually committed a foul in the box at the other end, and awarded the opposing team a PK.

There was a foul not called by their player ten seconds before that but they couldn't review that.

I'm ready to sell my tickets for the rest of the year

Like I've joked about this exact scenario and it finally happened

srsly?? i had no expectations and there are some nuances here but that is pathetic

It would have been 22-1 but there were a couple of borderline offsides where the keeper's view was deemed to have been obstructed

some enhancements we will probably see:

1) whenever the semi-automated offside detects a possible offside infraction, a recording is played through the stadium at 95 db that says

"ATTENTION: one of the players involved in build-up may or may not be offside, therefore everything that is happening right now might be for naught. Please hold your celebrations if anybody scores."

2) whenever there is a red card, the player is executed on the field, so there can be no rescinding of cards later
