Hahaha

The highlight was our official account celebrating victory in the 89th minute, before commentators curse struck.

Sheffield fucking Wednesday :D

Rotherham down to ten and incapable of beating an egg at the best of times.. there's hope for all of us!

calzino, Wednesday, 3 March 2021 23:06 (three years ago) link

McCarthy's thugball Cardiff side are the worst, it was like watching a tribute team to every Warnock side of the 90's. They only ever look like scoring from set pieces and have been beating sides with 20-30% possession. I hate them more than Leeds rn! And last night Aaron Rowe won us a pen and up steps the guy who got voted the worst Arsenal player of all time and looking nervous and awkward and not up for it at all and then blasts it wide. Our 4th penalty miss of the season.

Big Mick's back baby

The Scampo Fell to Earth (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 6 March 2021 10:38 (three years ago) link

It really is a indictment of the champo that such a boring, grisly anti-football side are in playoff contention. Gl Cardiff!

calzino, Saturday, 6 March 2021 10:44 (three years ago) link

mind you at one point I heard a bbc Leeds commentator say that Warnock's Middlesbrough were averaging one shot per game, and they didn't say one shot on target. But their big playoff push seems to have faded since.

calzino, Saturday, 6 March 2021 10:48 (three years ago) link

lol @ Bournemouth. or some might have it Boscombe Manor.

calzino, Sunday, 14 March 2021 00:00 (three years ago) link

lmao we're playing Birmingham City the mother of all hospital passes, what a glorious day

imago, Monday, 15 March 2021 13:36 (three years ago) link

oh it's official now!

calzino, Wednesday, 17 March 2021 00:43 (three years ago) link

he'll be thanking the new-manager gods for Rotherham being so wretched, but brum have previous for escaping on the last day if it gets a bit sticky

calzino, Wednesday, 17 March 2021 01:09 (three years ago) link

fingers x'd

Woking have gone public to say Saturday is shit or bust for them, if they don't win the semi them they're furloughing all their plays and (presumably) not completing the season.

To help(?) this state of affairs they have signed two new players for the semi. One of whom is cuptied because he played for Slough in an earlier round thus ineligible. Fucking tinpot.

Well *I* know who he is (aldo), Thursday, 25 March 2021 14:21 (three years ago) link

I have met a Woking fan, a teenager. Poor lad

imago, Thursday, 25 March 2021 14:24 (three years ago) link

There's a Woking fan on ilx, though I don't think she hangs about on this thread.

Tim, Thursday, 25 March 2021 16:36 (three years ago) link

idk, seems like they might be a fun club to support. Remember in the 90s they used to win the Trophy almost every year, decent FA cup record too

Woking itself a grim place tho lol

All aboard the banter bus

imago, Friday, 26 March 2021 11:00 (three years ago) link

1-0 up at half time. Been a decent enough game, 2 or 3 decent chances to both sides but their marking poor for the goal. Other semi might be the one to watch though as its currently 2 each.

After the QF County seemed to be telling their fans they had had the nod for 5k each to be let in. Let's see.

Well *I* know who he is (aldo), Saturday, 27 March 2021 17:38 (three years ago) link

someone check on calz maybe

imago, Tuesday, 6 April 2021 20:31 (three years ago) link

can't even totally scapegoat the less than useless on loan keeper who steals a 20 grand a week wage at his parent club and will never play for a professional club again when he's released this summer. No it was a team effort.

calzino, Tuesday, 6 April 2021 21:17 (three years ago) link

Ouch. The thread title reminds me that I saw a clip of Aiden McGeady scoring last night and I had no idea he was still playing.

Duncan Disorderly (Tom D.), Tuesday, 6 April 2021 21:37 (three years ago) link

Are Sunderland.........stumbling?

imago, Tuesday, 13 April 2021 18:32 (three years ago) link

Could there be another date with playoff destiny?

cajunsunday, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 18:30 (three years ago) link

literally this

Can't believe @StreathamRovers has now been suspended by Twitter. An account that tweets only non-league football satire.

Have to say their chosen kit sponsor Herod Eviction Services now looks highly ironic #streatham pic.twitter.com/BDSFSIAYtO

on such things people make relegation wishes

imago, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 18:37 (three years ago) link

well I'm still going to try and enjoy watching us arsehole Barnsley in 5 mins .. despite everything 🤮

calzino, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 18:41 (three years ago) link

they've deleted the tweet and presumably the sponsor in the last two minutes lmao

imago, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 18:42 (three years ago) link

felt like covs recent results should have us safe this year but if we can hold this tonight, glory days :)

nxd, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 18:50 (three years ago) link

they might have deleted the tweet but they haven't deleted the shirts

calzino, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 18:54 (three years ago) link

there is no way we deserved to lose this game - oh yeah hang on a min we deserved to lose 10-0 actually!

calzino, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 20:45 (three years ago) link

about 3-4 players returning back on the pitch in various states of unfitness tonight that would have had us at least 20 pts ahead if they hadn't got injured in january

just parking this here so it's on the permanent record in the annals of ilx.

calzino, Thursday, 22 April 2021 08:58 (three years ago) link

is this still not a news story anywhere?

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Thursday, 22 April 2021 09:34 (three years ago) link

no it should be a story and there ought to be a grovelling apology from the chairman and the commercial dept. I'm getting even more angry about this - feel like switching my allegiance to Bradford Park Avenue it's pissed me off that much. Not just the proud anti-GRT stuff on their twitter banner and the pro-Trump stuff and the fact that leg-breakers are even lower vermin than payday lenders. I perhaps naively expect better from a club that makes so much noise about all their outreach work in the community blah blah blah.. oh just fuck 'em.

calzino, Thursday, 22 April 2021 09:44 (three years ago) link

plenty of 'strikes' going in today
