Ajax with no Son isn’t going to a picnic.

Amazing match.

ShariVari, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 20:59 (seven years ago)

GuardiLOLa fails again.

Do you like 70s hard rock with a guitar hero? (Tom D.), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 20:59 (seven years ago)

I don't particularly like Spurs, I just hate City.

FernandoHierro, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 20:59 (seven years ago)

Yeah, fuck 'em.

Do you like 70s hard rock with a guitar hero? (Tom D.), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:00 (seven years ago)

feel like ajax will be difficult for them idk

gbx, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:01 (seven years ago)

my friend is a city fan at the game, i don't know how long a cooling off period will be required before we can hang out but thinking about his pain is the only thing keeping me going

ogmor, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:01 (seven years ago)

That from Eriksen was the Spursiest thing I've ever seen, but VAR is an even stronger magic it seems

a whisper from god himself in the heart of every spurs fan

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:02 (seven years ago)

I'm actually quite pissed off that I will never be able to complain about VAR again.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:04 (seven years ago)

VAR is obviously amazing

FernandoHierro, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:05 (seven years ago)

Tho I wonder will it eventually stop people celebrating goals once we all get used to the joyless VAR men and their fact machines.

FernandoHierro, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:06 (seven years ago)

I didn't have a pony, i like Pep and the City squad, this was beautiful tho. Is the semi pre-drawn? Barca are gonna piss this.

The Gapes of Wrath (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:07 (seven years ago)

That game was hilarious.

hot dog go to bathroom (cajunsunday), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:09 (seven years ago)

the semi's pre-drawn

ajax/spurs
pool/barca

gbx, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:10 (seven years ago)

I would be fairly confident Liverpool can beat Barca.

FernandoHierro, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:11 (seven years ago)

This season is a game of exciting umcertainties sure

The Gapes of Wrath (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:12 (seven years ago)

Ajax for the cup.

I wouldn't normally be bullish but Barca are perfect opponents for Liverpool, a bad defence and too big a pedigree to play in a way that won't expose it.

FernandoHierro, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:13 (seven years ago)

Wd gently suggest that Liverpool have vulnerabilities too

The Gapes of Wrath (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:14 (seven years ago)

two excellent match ups imo

ogmor, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:14 (seven years ago)

OTM, great semis.

Do you like 70s hard rock with a guitar hero? (Tom D.), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:15 (seven years ago)

Barcelona are not gonna piss this, i guarantee it

or something, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:15 (seven years ago)

cautiously agree with fernando

gbx, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:16 (seven years ago)

Klopp/'pool >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ole/Utd

Do you like 70s hard rock with a guitar hero? (Tom D.), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:17 (seven years ago)

They were crap in both legs against Man U, at least until the errors made the scoreline comfortable enough. A tiny bit of harrying at Old Trafford and they looked like a rabbit in the headlights.

FernandoHierro, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:17 (seven years ago)

tbh id cheer Ajax

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:18 (seven years ago)

wait thats not conditional this is insane

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:18 (seven years ago)

I have a sinking feeling I am in Buenos Aires and Doncaster on the semi final dates and will probably miss both.

Are the 30th and 7th confirmed?

ShariVari, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:21 (seven years ago)

Ajax with no Son isn’t going to a picnic.

Amazing match.

Is son on a ban?

lefal junglist platton (wtev), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:23 (seven years ago)

Yes, yellow cards.

ShariVari, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:23 (seven years ago)

a fuckin shit soft one too from that homer cunt ref

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:27 (seven years ago)

dele had a lowkey excellent game

ogmor, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:44 (seven years ago)

cant agree

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:46 (seven years ago)

Turns out I’m going to be in Rosario - which is (kind of) Poch’s home town. It unfortunately doubles as Leo Messi’s home town so i might struggle to find a bar showing Spurs.

Hopefully the Sissoko injury won’t be too bad. Idk if Foyth is trusted to play CM but there isn’t really anyone else fit.

ShariVari, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 21:51 (seven years ago)

They won't be on at the same time tho

groovypanda, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 22:00 (seven years ago)

Yep - both semi-finals are listed as the 30th but I guess that one will be on the 1st and they haven’t decided which.

ShariVari, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 22:01 (seven years ago)

playing out of position for most the game trying to shut down the best attacking team in europe is not flattering but dele's positioning, awareness and runs were choice, really the only good thing about that midfield

ogmor, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 22:04 (seven years ago)

wanyama tackled well imo and was surprisingly good in the air

think dele lucas eriksen would struggle to ever put in a combined performance as bad again tbh

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 22:07 (seven years ago)

still sad about wanyama not playing for celtic more 6 fucking years later

findom haddie (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 22:11 (seven years ago)

just got in, expected as many new posts as the afternoon of City's first Prem title, think it's fallen short but I'll probably get over it

Terry Major-Ball Will Tell You (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 22:30 (seven years ago)

missed the game ffs. Cool result though

fancy Liverpool against Barca too, sadly

Number None, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 22:48 (seven years ago)

Wanyama looked pretty rusty and was skinned several times and there's next to no chance of him being fit for the next round in any case.

How long are Winks and Dier out for?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 17 April 2019 23:28 (seven years ago)

poch will pick thatchers corpse at cm and not only will it work and not only will you cheer it, it will still be less surprising than this having happened with sissoko this season

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Wednesday, 17 April 2019 23:38 (seven years ago)

Picked the wrong night to fill out my tax returns :/

Think Spurs is a more difficult opponent for Ajax than ManCity. I too fancy Liverpool having a decent chance against Barca tbh.

Uptown VONC (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 18 April 2019 07:42 (seven years ago)

still hate var tho. the novelty is going to wear off fast

ogmor, Thursday, 18 April 2019 08:01 (seven years ago)

^^ same.

Uptown VONC (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 18 April 2019 08:07 (seven years ago)

same as cricket. it takes the physical feeling of elation away at a goal (which affects the experience of watching on tv as well as people at the match). it takes judgment off the pitch. as we saw last night it replaces that surge of adrenaline with bewilderment and uncertainty. and a technology that was justified on the basis of removing egregious blunders gets used to make pixel fine judgments (the llorente “handball” last night - no intention, no hand to ball, unavoidable, and yet, did it perhaps brush his elbow?). the space of error just moves into protracted microscopic video analysis. the main driver behind it was media controversy boosting.

absolutely hilarious last night of course.
