faust apes (NickB), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 18:54 (eight years ago)

XP idk could still do a job for Gareth if they get a run of games between now and summer imo

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 18:59 (eight years ago)

Some really lovely stuff from utd here

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 20:07 (eight years ago)

Chalov looks v good also imo

moyesery loves kompany (darraghmac), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 20:11 (eight years ago)

only just put it on so i dont know if youre taking the piss or not re utd! was reading somewhere last week that luke was getting the best training stats out of the whole team for overall fitness and he definitely looks pretty sharp out there. obviously it's early days, but are we really that desperate now for a new lb?

faust apes (NickB), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 20:18 (eight years ago)

oh luke got diddled on that one :(

faust apes (NickB), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 20:33 (eight years ago)

I just can't see it with Shaw at this point

Was impressive tonight, but I don't believe Mourinho trusts him

Number None, Tuesday, 5 December 2017 21:39 (eight years ago)

Atletico Madrid out, and PSG lose for the second match in a row.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 5 December 2017 21:43 (eight years ago)

I just can't see it with Shaw at this point

i guess the pecking order for that position atm is something like:

ashley
darmian
marcos
blind
rooney
luke

celtic romped into the europa league

-_- (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 22:02 (eight years ago)

as usual some absolutely awful draws await a few of the group winners. bayern, juve, real madrid etc.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 5 December 2017 22:09 (eight years ago)

All this draw talk is silly anyway, but it's daft that clubs from the same country can't draw each other once we enter the knock-out stages.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 09:37 (eight years ago)

this year in particular it means that the options are v limited for english teams

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 09:47 (eight years ago)

Last years there frequently were four Spanish sides w/ the last 16. I can get behind trying to avoid a Moscow-Kiev match for obvious reasons, but in a tournament for best club in the world, why still not allow same country draws when you're down to 16? Makes no sense.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 09:57 (eight years ago)

celtic romped into the europa league

Where they should have been all along.

As someone who watched approx. 253 Chelsea v Liverpool matches in the 00s I'm entirely pro-gerrymandering in this regard.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:07 (eight years ago)

I empathize, but it still doesn't make sense. The whole CL doesn't make sense though. It's unsustainable anyway. Aren't the four biggest countries promised yet another spot in the near future? 6 sides for England, Germany, Spain, France/Italy. G'luck with that draw m8.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:11 (eight years ago)

it was only the two group ones that were shit, like really shit. the 05/07/09 semi-finals were all p epic.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:14 (eight years ago)

need to have a straight knockout with the top 528 teams in europe

nxd, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:17 (eight years ago)

Otm.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:18 (eight years ago)

Yeah I know but even then, it's just not as much of an event when it's a team you play two or three times a season anyway.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:19 (eight years ago)

i actually really enjoyed some of the all-english ties over the years. something about a midweek knockout game at night in a higher stakes tournament - the drama just felt much higher.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:26 (eight years ago)

need to have a straight knockout with the top 528 teams in europe

this is obviously otm tho

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:26 (eight years ago)

Bit like the FA Cup, starts two years before the final.

Action of Boyle Man Prompts Visitor to Stay (Tom D.), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:30 (eight years ago)

Make it four years and that would cover the danger of there not enough games for TV because you'd have four competitions running simultaneously at different stages.

Action of Boyle Man Prompts Visitor to Stay (Tom D.), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:33 (eight years ago)

tbh prob every registered team in the world, and all international teams should be in a league

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:34 (eight years ago)

it'd be good as games would be a once in a lifetime chance

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:35 (eight years ago)

Fans could choose 40 teams to support, so, if one of their teams only ever gets to play two games, in their brief existence, they have other teams to fall back on. Think of the revenue in replica jerseys.

Action of Boyle Man Prompts Visitor to Stay (Tom D.), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:39 (eight years ago)

i was thinking one leg games at a neutral ground

nxd, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:44 (eight years ago)

Even better. Obviously there would need to be some safeguards, we can't have a free-for-all, in the event of any EPL team or any of the leading teams in Europe being beaten the result would have to go to either a public vote or, better, a vote by a panel of experts.

Action of Boyle Man Prompts Visitor to Stay (Tom D.), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:49 (eight years ago)

:)

nxd, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:53 (eight years ago)

one leg games at a random neutral ground, announced the day before the match

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:55 (eight years ago)

best league in the world

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 10:56 (eight years ago)

rip dortmund

mookieproof, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:03 (eight years ago)

Liverpool 3 up after 18 minutes and in one of those moods were they look like they'll score with every attack

i know kore-eda (or something), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:06 (eight years ago)

Dortmund back in the Europa now Spurs have scored.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:07 (eight years ago)

Saving the look like they'll concede with every attack for the second half xp

groovypanda, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:08 (eight years ago)

Naturally

i know kore-eda (or something), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:10 (eight years ago)

Barring a second half collapse though, Chelsea now guaranteed Barca, PSG or Besiktas in next round

groovypanda, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:13 (eight years ago)

Excellent Bernard goal for Shakhtar. Looks like Napoli might be doomed to the Europa.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:17 (eight years ago)

Shaktar trumping Napoli would be the biggest surprise of the first round imo. That and Besiktas winning their group.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:19 (eight years ago)

2-0!

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:21 (eight years ago)

Terrible from Ederson.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:22 (eight years ago)

Dortmund back from the dead. 2-2

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:56 (eight years ago)

Liverpool on faya

xp could save Bosz' job, that

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:57 (eight years ago)

If Napoli can't win in Rotterdam they don't deserve anything tbh

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 6 December 2017 20:58 (eight years ago)

Enjoying this and I hope poch has grown his balls a bit re refreshing the first team tbh.

Aurier is a cunt. Rotten tackle there.

Playing lovely direct swashbuckling if patchy stuff tho, a really nice change from the stultifying stuff the first roster have been serving up

remember the lmao (darraghmac), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 21:09 (eight years ago)

No idea what has inspired us to make three needless yellow/reddish challenges in the past ten minutes

remember the lmao (darraghmac), Wednesday, 6 December 2017 21:11 (eight years ago)

Anyone watching just saw Danny rose's Tottenham career end I think
