lovely pass tbf!

anyway cmon, game needs an equaliser

imago, Saturday, 5 November 2016 14:23 (nine years ago)

ah well

i think Lambert can get this shower into shape tbh, still need at least one centre half with a brain and a proper centre mid beast but if we can get on top of games we should start winning

what's the word on saiss and prince wotsit

r|t|c, Saturday, 5 November 2016 14:32 (nine years ago)

what i've seen of either of them hasn't been that convincing although i don't think the Prince has had a proper go in his preferred position

i think it was stupidly early to sack Zenga but when you look at relative lack of progress and some of the rumours about his laid-back approach to turning up and doing his job, it's basically too early to judge any of the noobs as i suspect none of them have been properly managed

so yeah either/both might be the solution to the midfield ish. the defence on the other hand is wretched. i still believe in Hause and would like Iorfa to have a spell at CB but they're kids and they need somebody alongside them with a slightly better ability to read the game and stand in the right place than Danny Baath is ever gonna have

more fun than an Acclaimed Music poll (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 5 November 2016 14:38 (nine years ago)

the other reason i'm mildly optimistic about Lambo is because i think he will look to use the players we've got to build some fluidity rather than just replace everybody with Aryan shitkickers but i feel frightened even as i type that

34' Dismissal

r|t|c, Saturday, 5 November 2016 18:11 (nine years ago)

the scum are only 3 pts behind us now, that cushion provided by a good start is slowly deflating.

calzino, Saturday, 5 November 2016 19:06 (nine years ago)

Tony Fernandes ‏@tonyfernandes 4h
Take the point. Strange how we played better with 10 men. Day and night. Thanks for keeping the fight and not folding over.

Tony Fernandes ‏@tonyfernandes 4h
Bemused, 17th 6 points of play off. It's tight. But it's not good enough. Need to improve. Plenty of points to play for 90 .

"He even fell out with Shittu while there, unthinkable when the pair were together at QPR and the players called the centre back ‘Son of Holloway’. "

this made me lol!

calzino, Thursday, 10 November 2016 11:24 (nine years ago)

I saw something the other day about a bunch of QPR fans that were going to support Brentford as a Sherwood contingency plan.

calzino, Thursday, 10 November 2016 11:33 (nine years ago)

think you'd have to go a long way to find a qpr fan without a soft spot for brentford; formerly as prelapsarian hovis ad, now as uncanny depiction of everything we once desired and can never have again (last season's euro ultra stats model approach aside). they absolutely and baffingly detest us of course, the way we do chelsea, and i suppose the fact that some of us would blithely go off and patronise them in hard times as if they were hayes or harrow borough in non-league is exactly why... bless em

and on that note!!

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cw5jokvWIAIjs8S.jpg

We’re excited to reveal our new crest for the 2017/18 season onwards.

Over the past 18 months we’ve been on a journey to better demonstrate who we are to the wider community, to try and make more of the unique aspects of Brentford FC. As a result, we’ve seen a gradual change in the way we communicate with fans of our Club and those we hope to convert into fans over time.

As part of this process we have made the decision to evolve our crest, in order to make it more recognisable, iconic, and practical to use. Given that our crest is such a key element to our identity, updating it is not a decision we have taken lightly.

The final crest design is loosely based on the crest we used from 1972-75 and the 1960s Brentford Supporters Club badge. We believe it’s simple, the clean bee design will help us become more recognisable as a Club over time and we hope you will all be proud to wear it for many years to come.

r|t|c, Thursday, 10 November 2016 12:13 (nine years ago)

bit sad about that tbh... the old one, font particularly, was so delightfully dated it was vaporware cool

r|t|c, Thursday, 10 November 2016 12:16 (nine years ago)

I'm really not into literal representations on badges, our Yorkshire terrier one was awful as well. This Barnsley one has a combo of flares, Prussian military symbols and a gryphon smoking a pipe - it seems quite appropriate tbh.

“This is one of the biggest appointments the club has ever made. We’re still a bit shocked that we’ve managed to persuade Tim to take it on,”

Swindon might have to finally build a fourth stand to accommodate their new fookin massive Director of Football's ego.

calzino, Thursday, 10 November 2016 19:07 (nine years ago)

Lol just in time for us

imago, Thursday, 10 November 2016 19:08 (nine years ago)

“People will be a little bit surprised that I’ve chosen Swindon over a few opportunities that I had, but it doesn’t surprise me."

“My job role is a bit of everything. I think the playing style will be tweaked somewhat, not totally, there’s not a lot wrong but at times they need to go a little bit more direct or turn the page over."

what a fucking tool, but it couldn't happen to a nicer club really.

calzino, Thursday, 10 November 2016 20:12 (nine years ago)

any games on now?

oh dear, sometimes there is a new manager bounce and it isn't the best time to play a side. I didn't realise that Charlton were known as the robins as well.

calzino, Saturday, 12 November 2016 14:36 (nine years ago)

classic L1 table that, everyone from the middle downwards either 3 pts from relegation or pushing for playoffs.

calzino, Saturday, 12 November 2016 15:00 (nine years ago)

our four attacking players removed by international callups and injury, slade proceeds to pick the worst charlton xi in living memory

imago, Saturday, 12 November 2016 15:47 (nine years ago)

i'm sure you've all been really missing the ollyisms over the last decade so

"This is a working mans club that people would die for. [...] I've painted a picture in my brain of the QPR badge up on a mantelpiece covered in gold. It needs to be looked after and worshipped."

r|t|c, Saturday, 12 November 2016 16:28 (nine years ago)

QPR: Fernandes gushes praise for Ian Holloway on Facebook

"Many will say Ian will not take us forward due to old school methods. Wrong. He's as astute as anyone I have met."

r|t|c, Saturday, 12 November 2016 16:29 (nine years ago)

marriage made in heaven that pair tbh

I'd take Peter Jackson back for a third time over Sherwood. If he could be persuaded to leave the care home he is currently managing in Brighouse that is. Ollie's Colin Hunt routine does my head in, but him not being Sherwood is cavernous gap on the rungs of twatdom imo.

The clown show continues

imago, Monday, 14 November 2016 18:44 (nine years ago)

(right decision though - Slade was beyond useless)

imago, Monday, 14 November 2016 18:44 (nine years ago)

(well, the right if completely clownish decision; there was no right move really)

imago, Monday, 14 November 2016 18:45 (nine years ago)

chris o'loughlin.... the random toadies are getting more interesting at least

r|t|c, Monday, 14 November 2016 19:08 (nine years ago)

I've never rated Slade and when some of his awful sides did inflict damage on us it was more an indictment of our own decline.

calzino, Monday, 14 November 2016 19:09 (nine years ago)

http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/PA-670948.jpg
Back in those halcyon days at Scarborough it sometimes seemed Slade was destined for much bigger things...

calzino, Monday, 14 November 2016 20:05 (nine years ago)

I know these new manager betting markets are 90% clickbait (Bubba Watson's papacy betting etc) but there does seem to be something to o'loughlin's favouritism.
