Were you at Croker, Darragh? Cos someone who looked like yrself in a grey hoodie and mayo jersey popped up on the telly looking glum on the 75th min there

Neptune Bingo (Michael B), Saturday, 1 October 2016 17:48 (nine years ago)

Saw him but looked more like one of the omalleys from louisburgh

poor fiddy-less albion (darraghmac), Saturday, 1 October 2016 18:10 (nine years ago)

I was gonna photo him! Had that exact thought. Dublin play with fear up front, like they get bollocked for shooting if the percentage isn't high enough, thankfully Costello hasn't been brainwashed like that. Also for a team that barely ever score goals we sure are obsessed with trying to engineer them. I know, moaning after we won two in a row. It was a stunning game.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 1 October 2016 18:30 (nine years ago)

Fully agreed, both last time out and today dub could have put the game to bed but we're holding back shooting from V reachable distance

Great game, no shame in losing it

poor fiddy-less albion (darraghmac), Saturday, 1 October 2016 18:48 (nine years ago)

Gk decision couldn't have gone much worse but we were much better and it's probable that Hennelly s kicking was a factor in that so.....

poor fiddy-less albion (darraghmac), Saturday, 1 October 2016 18:49 (nine years ago)

Imagine it went to extra time. Like that's prob a human rights abuse.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Saturday, 1 October 2016 18:58 (nine years ago)

This time around the bench strength told. I'm still confused about it not doing so last time tbh.

Worthy winners and a truly great team tbf, can play a few ways and don't rely on one or two individuals.

Next year is our year

poor fiddy-less albion (darraghmac), Saturday, 1 October 2016 22:57 (nine years ago)

the decision to change the keeper was remarkably bad. i guess rochford will still survive for next year though.

challops warning but, imo aidan o'shea is shit, he never scores, he is terrible at shooting, and for a big guy he actually ends up rolling around on the ground a lot and isn't actually able to batter through people, though he keeps trying. did he even score a point in either of the finals?

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 2 October 2016 08:13 (nine years ago)

He's shit in this system, I don't think that's a challop. In a system that suited him he was imo the best footballer in the country. Both systems got us to finals but are p much radically different approaches to the game. Hard to say what fine margins could be eked out either way for the sake of argument really. When oshea was great we were the best footballing team in the country and should've won one. The past couple of years feel much more like an incremental gains systemic approach where we are predictable and consistent and as a result made a final this year that we might not have expected to.

Think there's definitely room to introduce more talent and intent in that midfield and not be so reactive, but the system is probably here to stay and that's likely due to gavins success in deploying the same method and attitude with Dublin imo, it's the current benchmark.

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 July 2017 17:38 (eight years ago)

What's happened? Do you hate Tyrone when they're playing football or hurling, I can't remember? Or just in general?

weird echo of the falsies (Tom D.), Saturday, 22 July 2017 18:19 (eight years ago)

I can ignore them most of the time tbh, all the nordie teams are rough showers a bastards tho

Mayo threw away a strong lead against cork then didn't

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 July 2017 19:57 (eight years ago)

Croí briste avec yon cunts obv

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 15:24 (eight years ago)

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 30 July 2017 15:42 (eight years ago)

has there ever been a more overrated gaa player than aidan o'shea?

— Ronan Fitzgerald (@rmkf) July 30, 2017

discus

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:22 (eight years ago)

It's a combo of being surrounded by shite, being the big player in the team, his own inconsistency and rarely doing it when it counts.

Overrated, yeah, at this stage.

Most ever? Ah now cmon.

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:26 (eight years ago)

he's just not good! he scored something like two fucking points in the entire championship last year. and he goes to ground a lot. i don't get the hype at all, he's nowhere near the level of a keegan or o'connor.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:30 (eight years ago)

you're definitely going to win this though

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:30 (eight years ago)

rossies so wasteful

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:33 (eight years ago)

terrible finishing, jesus lads

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:39 (eight years ago)

Fuck ya

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:39 (eight years ago)

Like they never saw a fuckin ball.

Cloggers. Shit kickers. A joke.

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:40 (eight years ago)

my heart is thumping and i'm not from either county

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:40 (eight years ago)

why no extra time

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:41 (eight years ago)

Cos we suffered enough

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:43 (eight years ago)

An awful game and a shameful display of shit football

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:44 (eight years ago)

spillane exactly right, it was two teams who looked scared of going and winning it.

xpost agreed. it was exciting but the quality not good.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:45 (eight years ago)

It was an exciting game!

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:45 (eight years ago)

ah man i fucking love watching gaa on rte - such a wave of nostalgia for ireland

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:47 (eight years ago)

It's a brilliant service there's no doubt

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:48 (eight years ago)

might get the season pass. it cost fucking 14 euro to watch that. it's 99 for the whole season. caught between a rock and a hard place really.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:50 (eight years ago)

That's expensive alright

Here lads the game wasn't as bad as the Kerry one, that was total shite

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:53 (eight years ago)

i was in bed for that one. late night. i still wouldn't write mayo off - they were mostly shite last year until the final.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:57 (eight years ago)

I was watching from the pov of wanting one team to string a fucking attack together

When you see gaa teams and they're completely unable to use space or make a decent decision in a move you wonder what the fuck training sessions are for and what they select fellas based on. There isn't ten players in the country with the brain to play lower league soccer in England imo

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 16:59 (eight years ago)

o'rourke/brolly/spillane are fucking gas old codgers xpost

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 17:00 (eight years ago)

Roch out!

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Sunday, 30 July 2017 17:09 (eight years ago)

I love the Brolly - Spillane dynamic. Brolly - "Best to stay silent when we see just how static Roscommon are here" - 5 second silence before Spillane squeals in his Kerry tone - "THEY'RE NOT MOOOOVING!"

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Sunday, 30 July 2017 17:25 (eight years ago)

the bit at the end where o'rourke made some joke and they were all about to lose their shit laughing, great telly.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Sunday, 30 July 2017 17:35 (eight years ago)

Best for all concerned we end this now

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Monday, 7 August 2017 13:02 (eight years ago)

Blow it up ref. Underneath those jerseys they're still men for god's sake.

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Monday, 7 August 2017 13:45 (eight years ago)

The Monday Game

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Monday, 7 August 2017 18:45 (eight years ago)

Kept meaning to go down to that rough-as-fuck pub just up the road from me that shows GAA every Sunday, however the Premier League's starting up again so I suppose it'll be fucking Arsenal from now on.

weird echo of the falsies (Tom D.), Monday, 7 August 2017 23:26 (eight years ago)

wtf happened the rossies? i was in work yesterday so i missed it. mayo are going to give kerry a game aren't they? just don't bother turning up until the semi-finals.

tyrone could trouble dublin too if we're as wasteful as we were on saturday.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 8 August 2017 08:45 (eight years ago)

Think we'll get battered but hey this could be the year seeing as no hype

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Tuesday, 8 August 2017 11:54 (eight years ago)

last year was p similar to this though i guess - same stumbling route through. they must be a bit tired tho. is the kerry game this weekend?

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 8 August 2017 11:57 (eight years ago)

Fortnight. And I in Milton keynes

jk rowling obituary thread (darraghmac), Tuesday, 8 August 2017 12:34 (eight years ago)

i'll be in nyc. not paying 20 dollars to watch gaa at 10am, even the dubs.

Bein' Sean Bean (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 8 August 2017 12:35 (eight years ago)
