Lack of job security I suppose is the vindication a lot of them will feel for trying to get some hustle bustle on the side. Doing it to put Junior through university to pay off bookie/losses at the roulette wheel. It is hard to justify this type of grift when some of them are already on obscene money, but I suppose the more you have the more you spend.

that Tommy Wright footage makes him look like a right dodgy fucker you would bump into in one of Beeston's roughest pubs. Oh don't worry that's the Barnsley assistant manager there, he won't threateningly ask you if your a "fed".

Smithies has always been so reliable against penalty kicks, he must have psyched out Aluko for the 2nd one as well!

A video of football fans singing a sick song about a Bristol City player has sparked controversy on social media, and a reaction from the player himself. In the shocking chant, the supporters sing: "We'll all be having a party, when Aden Flint is dead," repeatedly.

The video was tweeted on Saturday evening to the 27-year-old Bristol City defender by a Bristol Rovers fan called Luke Clay, and Flint later responded with a single 'sad face' emoji symbol.

I'm not happy about some of this lower table trash enviously eyeing up Wagner:p If some fucking panicking oligarch watching their £50m Bismarck going down or the Candy Crush fc wanker think that Wagner will be easily bought - they will be disappointed because he isn't a mercenary and his next move will more likely be a top prem/bundesliga job. I don't think some of his methods would go down well with these mediocre bigshots. For instance he has strict rules that all players must live within 15 miles of the training ground and some players have commented his training + expectations of fitness levels are pretty hardcore.

calzino, Monday, 3 October 2016 07:55 (nine years ago)

luckily it's still too early for a big prestige job like the villa, needs a couple more years learning the ropes apparently

r|t|c, Monday, 3 October 2016 08:02 (nine years ago)

sounds like a job for the Bruce, he has the calloused hands (and face) of a seasoned EPL2 manager and it it looks like the Telegraph don't have anything on him.

calzino, Monday, 3 October 2016 08:20 (nine years ago)

surprises me that Bruce is clean tbh, I now automatically assume every manager of his generation has been on the make

this is p weird. even if you'd made the weird decision to put a guy's future on a one-off game, why would you then publicly announce this showdown at the braintree corral?

Boothy the leg end! His knees are so fucked it would take him about 5 mins to get back out of that crouching position.

Much hilarity last night as we scored a not-particularly-deserved injury time winner.

They had been timewasting since the half hour mark (in response to direct instructions to do so from their manager) and it was a proper park the bus effort, no shots on target yet equalised from a dubious penalty given as a result of an even more dubious free kick. Anyway, the timewasting really stepped up in the last 15 particularly from throws and especially involving their right back who was spoken to 4 times by the ref. He lost patience on 91 minutes and reversed the direction of a throw after yet another huge timewasting effort by the right back. We took the throw quick and long, our striker took the ball round the right back as he controlled it and stuck it away.

Their manager was a bit of a bad loser, when the ref wouldn't talk to him about it after the game he slapped one of our players offering a handshake.

What compels Derby, or any club, to still let Mclaren loose on their training grounds in 2016? Is he just part of English football silverware? We hate him but it's Schteve? Dang.

the tightening is plateauing (Le Bateau Ivre), Wednesday, 12 October 2016 15:51 (nine years ago)

Now that Warnock is at Cardiff I could see Derby getting pulled into the shit. They really shouldn't with that squad but I have a lot of faith in Mclaren.

calzino, Wednesday, 12 October 2016 16:01 (nine years ago)

wow. there was some speculation that the dressing room had been pulling a chelsea ever since he was sacked...

every player under him has said he is a great training ground coach, even at newcastle iirc

NIGEL PEARSON had to be physically restrained as his furious bust-up with Derby chairman Mel Morris last week almost came to blows.

Pearson had launched a foul-mouthed tirade tearing into his Derby flops in the dressing room after the 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn a week last Saturday.

The 53-year-old then publicly criticised them on TV as the result had left the Midlands club with one win in nine games and in the relegation zone.

It is believed that seven Derby players then went to Morris on the Sunday to revolt against Pearson, claiming they no longer wanted to play for him.

Morris called a meeting on the Monday morning with the ex-Leicester chief, which became extremely heated and the pair had to be separated to prevent a physical altercation.
