imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 08:31 (nine years ago)

feared the worst when i saw the lookman palace rumour

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2016 09:18 (nine years ago)

our fans are experiencing a weird displacement of anti-katrien rage this morning. where to direct it? mostly derision at poor prodigal diego tbh

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 09:36 (nine years ago)

i guess not even katrien could sanction the Worst Transfer Of All Time. like, imagine selling qpr's best player to chelsea (has this happened recently)

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 09:38 (nine years ago)

not even best player more like youthful recherche of quick feet perdu

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 09:40 (nine years ago)

loic remy, but it was impossible to get radge about an unusually graciously mannered mercenary

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2016 10:18 (nine years ago)

ya and he was hardly the starchild, the heart music, the raheem sterling

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 10:20 (nine years ago)

will be a miracle if lookman somehow avoids going to chelsea to be loaned out interminably before ending up at palace at 26 tbh

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2016 10:21 (nine years ago)

interest from arsenal and spurs might indicate a path less travelled but that is always the fear yes

how likely is it that rules against chelsea's player farm will be put in place

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 10:48 (nine years ago)

looking over the wreckage, it's pretty incredible how newcastle wednesday villa wolves have been recruiting not just big but also not in aid of a "missing piece of the jigsaw" style defined first xi either. everywhere just super bloated optionsssss. how many places can brendan rodgers be in at the same time?

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2016 12:58 (nine years ago)

yeah the daryl murphy signing is almost sublimely absurd, it's like he's being kept in store for burton away and burton away only

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 13:04 (nine years ago)

it's like when chelsea signed parker, wright-phillips and sidwell basically so that charlton, man city and reading couldn't beat them again, except in the championship

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 13:06 (nine years ago)

hilarious thread

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2016 13:09 (nine years ago)

Look we only signed 4 wingers

wan bobolink (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 1 September 2016 13:39 (nine years ago)

tbf i can't really talk; due to a botched offloading we have 6 centre-backs all of top-end L1 standard or better. we've got all the defending you could dream of

imago, Thursday, 1 September 2016 13:47 (nine years ago)

yeah the daryl murphy signing is almost sublimely absurd, it's like he's being kept in store for burton away and burton away only

5m will do nicely thanks. Sadly with the resulting line up of new loanees it looks like it's Marcuse Vans that will benefit, not the sputtering tractor.

coffers not full after the olympics?

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2016 20:39 (nine years ago)

newcastle refused to loan us adam armstrong and sent him to barnsley instead cos we are a promotion rival apparently [shreds 'dont fear the reaper' solo]

r|t|c, Thursday, 1 September 2016 20:41 (nine years ago)

i like how a month ago Newcastle were title certs and already they look like a team in the mix

On Murphy, don't underestimate the value of having an archetypal Championship striker on the training ground to play against every day #nufc

The Emirates FA Cup Qualifying - Tie of the Round?

Aw naw, no' Annoni oan an' aw noo (Tom D.), Saturday, 3 September 2016 17:56 (nine years ago)

quite tickled by Portishead Town 1 - 4 Swindon Supermarine

r|t|c, Saturday, 3 September 2016 19:10 (nine years ago)

almost tempted to throw ilx america a quaintest tie poll

Brightlingsea Regent 1 - 2 Billericay Town
Squires Gate 2 - 5 Handsworth Parramore
Billingham Synthonia 2 - 2 Ossett Town
Pontefract Collieries 2 - 3 Tadcaster Albion

guess this would end up winning though

South Park 2 - 1 Dorking Wanderers

r|t|c, Saturday, 3 September 2016 19:13 (nine years ago)

osset town and osset albion both in action today

r|t|c, Saturday, 3 September 2016 19:13 (nine years ago)

We had the misfortune of quite the worst refereeing performance I've ever seen at our tie today. Some highlights:

Giving a player FOUR final warnings, including one where he brought the captain over to underline the point.

Taking a yellow card halfway out of his pocket before remembering he'd booked the player already, so putting it back in and changing the free kick to a throw in.

Sending a player off with a straight red because he fell on the player that came through the back of him two footed (although that did warrant a free kick).

Gave a penalty for vague leg waving near a player heading for the corner flag chasing the ball, and nearer it than the edge of the box.

Booked the wrong player (6ft+ with a beard vs 5'6" and shaved head) for kicking the ball away when they weren't close enough to confuse.

Missed a full on flying Superman punch clearance from the left back.

Horizontal Superman is invulnerable (aldo), Saturday, 3 September 2016 20:00 (nine years ago)

He didn't actually book the player in the first example by the end either.

you went all the way to romulus, congrats

"osset town and osset albion both in action today"

i used to work with someone who occasionally played for Albion. It was quite amusing when they told me ex-town player Malvin Kamara turned out for them this weekend.

calzino, Saturday, 3 September 2016 22:27 (nine years ago)

well years ago I mean, but his descent was quite rapid.

Danny from HTFC World is a bit unkind to Wolves fans in this cartoon match report of last week's game.

calzino, Sunday, 4 September 2016 11:01 (nine years ago)

our home gates have been underwhelming so far this season too

the only remotely defensive thing i would add is that i missed the chance to watch us at Hull at the end of last season, for the first time in 30 years, because we was that bad on Boxing Day when i went to Molineux - i'll watch us get beat, god knows that's easy enough, but i wasn't paying the money for 90 minutes of defending the edge of our box.

anybody not on the Zengabus is a dick who can fuck off tbh, tho i have heard some chuntering about nasty away clubs overcharging for our games because we're so massive

There Will Be Ducks (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 4 September 2016 11:16 (nine years ago)

There is definitely something fishy about our attendance figures, they have been decent by our standards but they don't seem true. I think the club are doing that add the non-attending season ticket holders to the total figure thing that some clubs do. And with the cheap ticket offer that is a lot more season ticket holders than usual. Happily where I sit has banks of empty seats and not many arseholes, which has been a recurring issue with my match day experience in the last decade.

calzino, Sunday, 4 September 2016 11:30 (nine years ago)

let's be honest in 2016 maybe there are a few less people who can punt 30+ quid for a football ticket once a fortnight, especially if they have kids

There Will Be Ducks (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 4 September 2016 11:32 (nine years ago)

Absolutely. I am lucky enough to get a free carers season ticket because otherwise I'd be priced out at standard prices, although this year our most expensive adult season ticket was £179 - which won't be the case next season.

calzino, Sunday, 4 September 2016 11:38 (nine years ago)

most expensive? that's a massive deal, good on Hudds

you can't drowned a duck (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 4 September 2016 11:41 (nine years ago)

yeah the child season ticket only cost me £69 this year, and the under 8 ones were only £23. But it isn't like our owner can't afford it, but props to him.

calzino, Sunday, 4 September 2016 11:52 (nine years ago)

https://youtu.be/PjIhTDz7-FA

woefully tedious tbh but our ceo lee hoos aka the revenuedriver gave an fairly detailed breakdown this week on stadium operational costs (which our ticketing revenue falls £3m short of every year...) and the impossibility in his view of "£20 is plenty" etc outside the epl. not applicable to every club but a rare insight anyway. if drainage fees sounds like a good time it's from 2:40 on

r|t|c, Sunday, 4 September 2016 13:41 (nine years ago)

Lol excellent. I'm not especially moany about what tickets cost, nobody makes you go and this is the era we're in. But it must be brutal on families where there's a couple of kids and they're keen, and I wouldn't pay the going rate to watch, say, Pulisball week in week out

could have sworn I'd posted that Driesen thing already but no

it's marvellous tbh, caleb from pretty little liars running a football club in between boffing the ceo and cultivating dreads

imago, Thursday, 8 September 2016 12:41 (nine years ago)

i'm having a weston super. been offered a free ticket to today's game. having to choose outright between grimmest grey drizzly efl irl vs babylon epl tv drivel rly underlines how you're a fucking loser either way huh. think i'm just going to play the excuse to drink in pub card, cos yknow, that's healthy and productive

r|t|c, Saturday, 10 September 2016 09:29 (nine years ago)

c/p to blue saturday obv

r|t|c, Saturday, 10 September 2016 09:32 (nine years ago)

weirdly similar to my own thought process this morning except there's no prospect of going to Wolverhampton today and i'm wrestling with the possibility of an all-day rave just up the road instead.

can't get hype for the Prem title decider.

you can't drowned a duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 10 September 2016 09:40 (nine years ago)

never mind, just been to the front door, it's filthy out there.

you can't drowned a duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 10 September 2016 09:42 (nine years ago)

oh idk a rainy all day rave might be an amusing kind of grim. beats legcramp sat under a tin roof among the most ignorant whinging wife-beating cunts bellowing sort it out jimmy

r|t|c, Saturday, 10 September 2016 09:58 (nine years ago)
