Good stuff.

Looks like Poch has got his priorities sorted and fielded a pretty young team against a strong Dortmund side tonight.
― groovypanda, Thursday, 10 March 2016 17:54 (eight years ago) link
Think It's kind of a pity that he's not gone absolutely full-tilt at this tbh, good experience for the champs league next year.
Lovely treat having these two games one after the other tonight
― Windsor Davies, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:02 (eight years ago) link
Champions League next year not assured yet though so that has to be first priority.
― groovypanda, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:13 (eight years ago) link
Fucking hammer shot from Mkhitaryan. Far be it from me to cast aspersions on the relative merits of Tom Carroll and Josh Onomah but we're getting fucking twatted here.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:17 (eight years ago) link
Ugh Robbie Savage. Shame no Gundogan. Weigl has been great this season.
Nice shot by Derek.
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:17 (eight years ago) link
Sweet.
I'll be disappointed if it turns out there's no fan song for him to the tune of MIA's Galang
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:32 (eight years ago) link
Lol.
I guess we should be happy Aubameyang isn't playing for Arsenal, which in a former era he definitely would be.
Robbie Savage's belligerent insistence that Eric Dier is all that would be required to stem the tide is more annoying than the goal.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:35 (eight years ago) link
Blimey p high there
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:36 (eight years ago) link
Reus free kick p wide and p high - Savage "good technique"
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:38 (eight years ago) link
Lol he really is obsessed with Dier
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:40 (eight years ago) link
The amount of space...
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:42 (eight years ago) link
Loathe to admit it for all sorts of reasons but robbie savage basically otm that if poch wanted to rest his best players he'd have been better off doing it against villa, could send the youth team out and come away with 3 points on Saturday.
― Windsor Davies, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:43 (eight years ago) link
Imagine how much of a clown he'd look if they somehow lost that though.
Loving Thomas Tuchel's 1995 eurorave puffa jacket by the way. I hope he was blasting out Technohead's I Want To Be A Hippy to get the team all amped up before the game.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:49 (eight years ago) link
When tuchel was at Mainz saw one game where he'd obviously decided the dugout was too far from the pitch cos he was sat in an actual deckchair in the technical area.
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 18:54 (eight years ago) link
Should have been two
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:09 (eight years ago) link
Pen surely???
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:10 (eight years ago) link
Just seen the Utd team. Fellaini starts which guarantees a shit game but also that Utd will score from a corner.
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:23 (eight years ago) link
That was beautiful
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:28 (eight years ago) link

― Ecomigrant gnomics (darraghmac), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:29 (eight years ago) link
idg poch's plan am I not supposed to watch this game
― ogmor, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:29 (eight years ago) link
sounds like I shd go and find a clip of that third goal huh
― drive me to a girly rave (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:34 (eight years ago) link
Yeh it was a nice one - Aubamayang 1st touch, the final ball and the finish all beautiful. Premier league so weird and shit quality this season, it's a shame that the only English team in European competition who have been impressive just gave up right at the moment they came to play someone good.
― brume escape (Blandford Forum), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:36 (eight years ago) link
poch is a cunt for this
― r|t|c, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:37 (eight years ago) link
welp not quite goal of the season as Clive Allen claimed but p undeniable aye
― drive me to a girly rave (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:37 (eight years ago) link
Hummels has been so smooth tonight.

― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:42 (eight years ago) link
tbh spurs could win the prem this season, if they do so it will be the biggest thing in forever for the team and everyone will remember it for a long, long time.
if they were to win the Europa league this season - obviously they won't now - in about ten years people would be like "didn't spurs win the Europa league once?"
― Cornelius Pardew (jim in glasgow), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:42 (eight years ago) link
Ah idgaf about the uefa if it shores up CL qualification this season.
But I would like our second string to be better than this.
But idk Dortmund a p good template for how we could have possession and also be actually effective so yknow learn from it I guess.
― Ecomigrant gnomics (darraghmac), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:43 (eight years ago) link
A good template in the same way Barcelona were a good template for Arsenal
― brume escape (Blandford Forum), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:45 (eight years ago) link
who is going to play the pointless and soul-crushing second leg
― ogmor, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:45 (eight years ago) link
Yeah but in arsenes first full season
― Ecomigrant gnomics (darraghmac), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:45 (eight years ago) link
on the sidelines poch smirks. if this don't convince facking levy to cough up for scott parker nothing will
― r|t|c, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:48 (eight years ago) link
I'm just annoyed with Spurs cos this match was supposed to be the rich delicious crab lasagne with champagne velouté before the fridge cold ginsters of five past eight
― brume escape (Blandford Forum), Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:52 (eight years ago) link
I feel bad about mocking Reus's hair for so long now that he's decided to turn himself into Alex Turner.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:57 (eight years ago) link
Do me a favour
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:59 (eight years ago) link
Still, another 4-7 games in this competition would have killed us, this is what you get for designing such a stupid, onerous, interminable tournament. Ditch the group stage and the second leg and teams might actually compete properly.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 19:59 (eight years ago) link
Teams do compete properly. Just not English ones.
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 20:00 (eight years ago) link
The only thing I'd change would be CL drop outs being involved.
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 20:02 (eight years ago) link
Other European leagues have less stupid onerous domestic campaigns though.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 10 March 2016 20:03 (eight years ago) link
God this is gonna be a shit foulfest isn' t it?
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 20:06 (eight years ago) link
is the seemingly team-wide adoption of the stutter-step PK going to be balo's lasting legacy?
― jason waterfalls (gbx), Thursday, 10 March 2016 20:26 (eight years ago) link
Incredible first half for de gea. fellaini absolutely useless in a match like this though, everything is just going around him the whole time
― François Pitchforkian (NickB), Thursday, 10 March 2016 20:54 (eight years ago) link
Fucking de gea, gonna regret these missed chances when hendo is sent off.
― pandemic, Thursday, 10 March 2016 20:55 (eight years ago) link
Bah should be 4-0. John Aldridge used to do the shimmy step peno back in the 90s tbf

redundant second clause tbf
― Number None, Thursday, 10 March 2016 21:03 (eight years ago) link
Carrick's coming on anyway. We desperately need to go 433 but van Gaal has seemingly abandoned it forever
