didnt get to see the whitecaps game this evening, for some reason it wasn't on my cable plan, they were winning 3-1 against skc, only to lose 4-3 in injury time. enigmatic and patchy as ever.

just saw the highlights, whitecaps were 3-1 until 80 minutes. conceded 3 goals in the final 14 minutes of the match.

that's insane. wow.

was quite funny because i was following the whitecaps game and the local minor league baseball team's game on twitter and watching bc lions canadian football team on tv. all three of them lost! lol vancouver.

was at vancouver v dallas tonight. whitecaps won 1-0 with a nice little back-heel from Cristian Techera (incidentally surely the shortest player in mls). other than that it was utter garbage, the worst game i've seen in forever, so boring. but 'caps go top of the league.

my lord the weather. there were very few of us left by the time play was un-suspended at 10:45 pm.

sad at yet another draw but it was an entertaining match.

Both teams were pretty much garbage from what I saw, but I missed the second half. Fire in particular relying on David Accam too much and becoming entirely predictable.

Seems like Jumper was mostly talking about the 2011-2012ish group of Frank Klopas, Javier Leon, and Guillermo Petrei more than the current coaching/management regime, but imo it all comes back to ownership hiring yes men and incompetent managers/coaches/TDs/whatever who will do what ownership wants and not talk back. A lot of people really like Klopas because he's a "Chikawgo guy" and Fire to the core but there have been rumblings for a while about his shitty practices in dealing with the players.

More shit like this keeps leaking out, though, and it's good imo that it is. The club has just become more and more toxic under this ownership as the years have passed, we can only hope that something will finally change for the better at the top. A lot of fans want Hauptman to sell and gtfo, but it seems like most people would be happy with him hiring a real soccer exec as a club president and letting them run things while Hauptman sits in California and lets his SUM payments roll in.

Jeff Krause, the guy Hunter Jumper was tweeting to, is going to be on Soccer Morning today to discuss last night's action.

He's important for the league, will help to legitimize it further.

Would like him more if he wasn't the biggest crybaby on the pitch but his talent is undeniable. Also lethal on set pieces.

KC wins on penos after a fairly good game. Philly trying the Holland/Krul move bringing in the replacement GK at the last moment was gutsy, and he blocked one, but not good enough in the end.

welp bummer last game against Philly, but damn was that a fun first season for OCSC. can't wait til next - already reupped my season tix, just moved the seat to a better location.

then they announce we have a NWSL team now, the Orlando Pride, and we sign Alex Morgan via a trade. (guess she's happy, her hubby plays for OCSC). Orlando really doubling down on this soccer mania - and then they announced a b-team in Brevard county in the USL.

new gm (president?) for next year, no coach yet (though there are rumors: petke, ramos, friedel (lol) and others), no USL team, no direction, no plan

these obvious points coupled with the rumors I hear from the VP level at the club on down lead me to think the chicago MLS concern won't be relevant for a long time

So seattle won. Means that the whitecaps conference semi final is guaranteed to be against cascadian rivals - portland beat kansas and it'll be kansas, kansas beat portland and it'll be seattle. Pretty happy about that.
