Krueger has dismissed speculation surrounding the pair's future after they were both linked with a reunion with former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, insisting they remain central to the club's plans for the future.
"They are part of the core that we have decided to keep in Southampton," Krueger said. "Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin are not for sale.
"They will be a part of our club as we enter the new season, and in and around Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin and the rest of our core players, we’re excited to continue to build forward but all of those stories (linking the pair with a move away) are false."
When asked if he could categorically guarantee Southampton fans the pair would remain with the club, Krueger replied: "That's correct.
thank fuck

Schneiderlin has made an official transfer request now.
― Wristy Hurlington (ShariVari), Wednesday, 30 July 2014 11:27 (eleven years ago)
so i guess that means he'll forgo any bonuses in his contract if Saints do sell. But really the clubs are like over £10m apart in their valuation and I can't see Levy budging so Southampton might accept the request but still be not sell yeah?
― pandemic, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 11:35 (eleven years ago)
I think when lallana and lovren acted like dicks to get their move lfc's and southampton's valuations were at least in the same general vicinity (ie too bloody high), although I may be wrong.
― pandemic, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 11:39 (eleven years ago)
Krueger vs Levy does have an element of unstoppable force vs immovable object to it. Perhaps they can draft Jean-Michel Aulas in to mediate.
I guess Arsenal might still be interested, though.
― Wristy Hurlington (ShariVari), Wednesday, 30 July 2014 11:46 (eleven years ago)
I think Liverpool were around 5m out on both of them

I don't have a horse in the race, and I shouldn't really care or be surprised, but I would find Marco Reus to Bayern next summer really really depressing.

Lukaku to Everton, really glad he's freed himself from Chelsea.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 13:45 (eleven years ago)
fuck sake spurs
― Serious Men raised by the Issues Movement (darraghmac), Wednesday, 30 July 2014 13:56 (eleven years ago)
The limited action of the WC made him look like a Prem Lge striker, which tbf Chelsea could have used last season (and this). Not sure Mourinho is wrong in thinking he's not CL level tho'. Yet.
― pandemic, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 14:01 (eleven years ago)
Levy waiting until 31 August to change up Adebayor/Soldado/Kane strike force yeah?
Or is it....Coulibaly time!
― pandemic, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 14:03 (eleven years ago)
If Lukaku's add-ons were specifically linked to what he achieved at Chelsea (rather than out on loan elsewhere) then I guess Chelsea have doubled their money. Not bad. Did the same with De Bruyne. Gotta love FFP.
― pandemic, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 14:06 (eleven years ago)
Destro still rumoured to be most likely. Replacing Kane with someone like Kramaric would be nice too.

i hear the vanishing spray doesn't actually do anything if players step over it

twenty whuuuut?
― r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:45 (eleven years ago)
isn't that p much exactly the fellaini fee?
― Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:53 (eleven years ago)
even so, everton don't seem like a club that should be spending that kind of dough on one player
― Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:54 (eleven years ago)
He had two years left on his contract, no? Price seems fair in the current market.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:56 (eleven years ago)
He's only 21 y/o, knows what it's like to score in the PL, I can see it tbh
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:57 (eleven years ago)
well yeah soldado for 26m excuses everything ever
― r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:59 (eleven years ago)
ahem Carroll
its a good price
TV money reality sez Everton can pay it for a player v likely to perform and recoup as much in future
― Serious Men raised by the Issues Movement (darraghmac), Wednesday, 30 July 2014 20:06 (eleven years ago)
Plus which, they already know he fits in at the club. Given Martinez has had his fingers burned when paying (comparatively) big money for a striker before, that's a very big thing - Everton need a serious striker, but can't afford to spend big on someone who might go all Dani Osvaldo on them.
― William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 20:20 (eleven years ago)
oh it's totally a good fee, i'm not disputing that. just yknow new look for everton
atleti showing the way really. sell big, buy big, rinse repeat & pray to god u never err

Soton actually brought a player in! Ryan Bertrand on loan for a year.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 20:38 (eleven years ago)
Btw are we doing a fantasy league thing again this year? Quite looking forward to filling it in and not looking at it ever again after the third matchday tbh
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 20:41 (eleven years ago)
loaning in a gang of underutilised top 4 players would be aces trolling from them rn
― Serious Men raised by the Issues Movement (darraghmac), Wednesday, 30 July 2014 20:41 (eleven years ago)
we sure that bertrand loan isnt just a stipulation of the lfc transfer
― r|t|c, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 20:54 (eleven years ago)
I've already set up the Fantasy Football leagues for 2014/15, LBI:

Spurs reportedly close to signing Eric Dier from Sporting. idk whether he's much good or whether the novelty factor of a British kid getting a few games at a decent European club is getting the better of them.
― Wristy Hurlington (ShariVari), Thursday, 31 July 2014 11:22 (eleven years ago)
Apparently he went to Everton on loan three years ago and I have no memory of that whatsoever. Presumably he didn't actually play.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 31 July 2014 11:44 (eleven years ago)
Ryan Gauld went to Sporting earlier in the summer. Has signing British kids become a thing for them?
― Ismael Klata, Thursday, 31 July 2014 12:28 (eleven years ago)
Dier's family lived in Portugal when they signed him (figures Spurs would buy the one british kid that doesn't count as homegrown). I think he would have only be 17 or so when he was at Everton.

Germany just won the Euro U19's beating Portugal in the final 1-0. Oztunali looks a heck of a player, hope he gets some game time with Leverkusen this season.
Oh just wiki'd him and apparently he's Uwe Seeler's grandson!
Kimmich looked good too.

huh it would seem we may be signing mauricio isla on loan for the season tomorrow
guess it's testament to the massive psychological damage that hughes wrought that i'm honestly kinda thinking i'd rather we just let danny simpson crack on with it
