i need to be absolutely clear on this:

Paris was amazing last night. Bayer ran after the ball the whole game.4-0, 65% possession in an AWAY game : Paris already in the quarter finals. yay !
― AlXTC from Paris, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 11:28 (twelve years ago)
yeah - i feel like the only team against which they don't stand a chance is bayern; all the other teams they can possibly beat.also got to love zlatan who when asked what it felt like scoring with his wrong foot replied that "there is no wrong foot"
― Jibe, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 12:36 (twelve years ago)
Matuidi looks like a really good player. His first goal last night was class.
― everyday sheeple (Michael B), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 12:39 (twelve years ago)
ahah, really ? as for bayern, yeah. I would also include barca and real. all these teams in top form would still beat a PSG in top form, I guess.

"I think it was not a good idea to put a referee from Sweden in charge of such an important match..."
OK, so Pellegrini is officially a fucking idiot.

Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Flamini, Wilshere; Ozil, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Sanogo
Neuer; Boateng, Dante, Martinez, Alaba; Lahm; Thiago, Kroos; Robben, Mandzukic, Gotze
I had a doozy of a ticket for this but couldn't make it (work) and had to pass it on to a mate. So I'm hoping it's good, but not *that* good.

Disbelievingly, slightly mournfully, Szczesny headed towards the tunnel, pausing for a few words of encouragement for Lukasz Fabianski, who had replaced the unfortunate Cazorla. As Szczesny left, he appeared to make a hand gesture similar to the rolling of a dice.

olympiakos were rather good, not surprisingly given the latin complexion they looked like a good 7th 8th best team in la liga, they virtually never lost shape because the united movement was so shit
― Joyeux animaux de la misère (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 25 February 2014 21:37 (twelve years ago)
wasn't there that poster on rawk, allegedly a guy with some sort of coaching experience, who was convinced before the season started that Moyes would fail because his approach is all about position and shape and doesn't encourage improvisation/fluidity or something like that. sounds about right

Olympiakos are usually superb at home. Although he was only there for six months, I think Jardim's influence is still felt in the way they play. Very strong in defence and very organised in midfield / attack. He has gone on to revitalise Lisbon in an equally short time.

xp ah yes thanks not a rawk member so can't access that link but google found me these quotes from last May which I was thinking of:
This is the hope we all had for Hodgson, though, is it not? That he was only coaching and playing that way to reflect the quality of players he had worked with. But no, he stuck with his own methods, and brought the level of the players down. Moyes is the same. Coaches have their methods because they believe in them and believe those methods are transferable. Rafa doesn't change from one team to another. Mourinho doesn't. Guardiola will do the same things at Bayern as he did at Barca. Moyes will do what he did at Everton. And it won't be enough. It's less to do with the technical level and more to do with the habits of the players. Everything they did on the field for Ferguson was drilled into them day by day, session by session, exercise by exercise, until all of those visual and tactical triggers became second nature. Now that flow of information will not only be disrupted, but changed almost completely. They will effectively be starting at the start again, and have to learn a new way of playing, a new set of triggers to look for, a new way of training, and a new way of defending. These transitions are made smoother when you keep the previous coaching staff and work little by little. This is what happened, to a degree, with Rodgers, when he came in. New staff, new methods, new style of play and new set of triggers. The only reason he had some leeway is because we haven't challenged for the league since Rafa, and had been out of the top four. Moyes is taking over the reigning champions, and so his margin of error with the players is virtually non-existent. If he gets it wrong and takes a step in the wrong direction, he'll rapidly lose the belief of the players, and they will put on sub-standard performances in games, consciously or unconsciously.

RVP: Other United players are often in the zones I'd like to play in. I find that a pity.Dutch TV Reporter: Do you know what is wrong with this United?RvP: Yeah but, I won't point fingers, because I'm not like that.
I don't suppose LBI is around and can confirm?
