Despite him being honking last night, I'd probably include Ambrose in the good enough category an' all. I think Ledley and Samaras will be away, if anyone will have them. I still genuinely believe Samaras can be good enough with the enormous disclaimer of "when he can be bothered", which it seems he isn't any more. When your own agent is tweeting during the match about how embarrassed he is to be watching you, you're having the very definition of a mare.

We should probably take this over to the Scottish football thread.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 16 December 2013 11:16 (twelve years ago)

Arsenal-Bayern again, yikes

Ismael Klata, Monday, 16 December 2013 11:21 (twelve years ago)

Will get killed!

Mourinho clearly fixed the draw so that he gets his Drogba reunion.

pandemic, Monday, 16 December 2013 11:28 (twelve years ago)

RM will score at least seven goals over 2 legs vs Schalke.

pandemic, Monday, 16 December 2013 11:29 (twelve years ago)

city barcelona...

Legitimate space tale (LocalGarda), Monday, 16 December 2013 11:34 (twelve years ago)

Shame no City-RM cos that would be a bonkers attack fest. Barca a little more circumspect.

pandemic, Monday, 16 December 2013 11:36 (twelve years ago)

two months pass...

barca playing keep ball but not doing much with it. business as usual...

Demichelis worthy of his place tonight so far. Bloody hell, I'd forgotten what a formidable breaker Mascherano can be too. Could go any which way, or 0-0.

Slight damage to cover on top corner (chewed by a kitten) (Craigo Boingo), Tuesday, 18 February 2014 20:35 (twelve years ago)

pretty dull first half tbh

everyday sheeple (Michael B), Tuesday, 18 February 2014 20:36 (twelve years ago)

I've missed Mascherano. Thought that was quite compelling tbh. PSG tearing things up in Bayer by the sounds.

Was outside the box I thought. Did they clear that up?

Lescott has the look of a dude who, if he played abroad, would have a big cult following here.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 20:59 (twelve years ago)

Ah, they just have - could've been iiuc.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 21:00 (twelve years ago)

it looked inside the box to me

everyday sheeple (Michael B), Tuesday, 18 February 2014 21:03 (twelve years ago)

thats two ties done and dusted tonight

everyday sheeple (Michael B), Tuesday, 18 February 2014 21:33 (twelve years ago)

Kompany not taking it too well

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 21:41 (twelve years ago)

Vincent Kompany: "Barcelona weren't superior to us".

Roy Keane: "He's obviously tired. I'm not sure he knows what he's talking about".

everyday sheeple (Michael B), Tuesday, 18 February 2014 22:16 (twelve years ago)

i need to be absolutely clear on this:

neil lennon, resplendently redheaded against tv3's blue background, has just described zlatan's left foot screamer as having gone in

like an exorcist

pellegrini just called the ref 'not impartial' thats gonna cost him

xpost possibly a clumsy reference to how quickly the evil spirit left linda blairs body in the movie of the same name

everyday sheeple (Michael B), Tuesday, 18 February 2014 22:22 (twelve years ago)

He's got a bit of that in him

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 18 February 2014 22:24 (twelve years ago)

surely the best use would be a dive reference to fr karras at the end idk

politically autocorrect (darraghmac), Tuesday, 18 February 2014 22:32 (twelve years ago)

Paris was amazing last night. Bayer ran after the ball the whole game.
4-0, 65% possession in an AWAY game : Paris already in the quarter finals. yay !

AlXTC from Paris, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 11:28 (twelve years ago)

yeah - i feel like the only team against which they don't stand a chance is bayern; all the other teams they can possibly beat.
also got to love zlatan who when asked what it felt like scoring with his wrong foot replied that "there is no wrong foot"

Jibe, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 12:36 (twelve years ago)

Matuidi looks like a really good player. His first goal last night was class.

everyday sheeple (Michael B), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 12:39 (twelve years ago)

ahah, really ?
as for bayern, yeah. I would also include barca and real. all these teams in top form would still beat a PSG in top form, I guess.

AlXTC from Paris, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 12:40 (twelve years ago)

pellegrini just called the ref 'not impartial' thats gonna cost him

"I think it was not a good idea to put a referee from Sweden in charge of such an important match..."

OK, so Pellegrini is officially a fucking idiot.

Eats like Elvis, shits like De Niro (Tom D.), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 13:34 (twelve years ago)

Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Flamini, Wilshere; Ozil, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Sanogo

Neuer; Boateng, Dante, Martinez, Alaba; Lahm; Thiago, Kroos; Robben, Mandzukic, Gotze

I had a doozy of a ticket for this but couldn't make it (work) and had to pass it on to a mate. So I'm hoping it's good, but not *that* good.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 19:07 (twelve years ago)

is sanogo real or

That was inevitable the moment they changed tack

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:32 (twelve years ago)

they fucked up that free kick and werent in position

sky commentators apologized for 'untowards gesture' by szczesny

Joyeux animaux de la misère (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:36 (twelve years ago)

Awesome header from Diego Costa, he must have a neck like a whip

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 19 February 2014 21:41 (twelve years ago)

Disbelievingly, slightly mournfully, Szczesny headed towards the tunnel, pausing for a few words of encouragement for Lukasz Fabianski, who had replaced the unfortunate Cazorla. As Szczesny left, he appeared to make a hand gesture similar to the rolling of a dice.

Joyeux animaux de la misère (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 25 February 2014 21:00 (twelve years ago)

are we at the point where there are players actively not performing for Moyes now i wonder

the immortal jellyfish will never die (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 25 February 2014 21:34 (twelve years ago)

olympiakos were rather good, not surprisingly given the latin complexion they looked like a good 7th 8th best team in la liga, they virtually never lost shape because the united movement was so shit

Joyeux animaux de la misère (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 25 February 2014 21:37 (twelve years ago)

wasn't there that poster on rawk, allegedly a guy with some sort of coaching experience, who was convinced before the season started that Moyes would fail because his approach is all about position and shape and doesn't encourage improvisation/fluidity or something like that. sounds about right

anonanon, Tuesday, 25 February 2014 21:47 (twelve years ago)

Keane is so brilliant right now
