The idea is that Toure's got the pace and positional sense to play high, unlike Skrtel, so play will be compressed vertically and everything gets squashed out to the wings, hence the sudden appetite for wingers & wing backs this summer.

Not even a case of cover at this stage, although I agree he deserves a run in the team. AVB will rotate positions further up the pitch in the same way he did with the defence last year, so both Lennon and Townsend will get plenty of play, even allowing for additional signings.

There was controversy in the Capital One match between Yeovil and Birmingham last night when Blues goalkeeper Colin Doyle kicked the ball out of play following an injury to teammate Dan Burn and Yeovil's Byron Webster promptly chipped into an empty net to take the match into extra time.

Yeovil then went ahead but allowed Birmingham to walk through and equalise. Birmingham went on to win the match on penalties but their manager Lee Clark was still angry and said: "I'm going to go down the right channels to complain; something has got to be done."

I missed this last night. What's he still angry about? What will his complaint be?

legitimate grounds for complaint imo given that extra time could have caused injury/suspension to his players regardless of their eventual win

His complaint is that the chip into the net took the game to extra time. Yeovil then didn't gift the goal until they had gone ahead in the first period, so he has two arguments - that Birmingham should have won the match in 90 minutes, if the Yeovil chipped goal hadn't been allowed to stand, and then that Yeovil didn't give them the goal back until it meant they weren't losing for doing so.

Birmingham fans might then make the point that they might have expected to beat Yeovil in any case.

what needs to be done is players need to stop this kicking the ball out bullshit and play to the fucking whistle. the only time a game wants stopping for an injury is if the guy looks unconscious.
