He's the sweetest man when he's not drinking

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 24 August 2013 10:10 (twelve years ago)

nahh it's the same level of 'gloating' he applies to everything ever, don't flatter yourself thinking there was anything special in there for spurs. like:

The former Real Madrid manager was unable to resist one last dig at Tottenham. Asked whether he expected the deal to be completed without any complications, a mischievous grin spread across his face. "We have to do a medical," he said.

it were funny cos he was just beforehand talking about the importance of generally doing medicals in secret before transfers

from the BBC

Real Madrid have made two different offers for Gareth Bale and are waiting to see which one Tottenham Hotspur will accept for the Wales winger. The first offer is €100m (£86m) with structured payments over three to four years, which would surpass the world record fee Real paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo (£80m). The other is an up-front, one-off payment which will be closer to £70m. A player could also be thrown in as a makeweight in the second deal.

must be great to be told you're a makeweight

its not as bad as when they used to be full of vermin like reocoker but villa still need a really skilled fitba player in midfield, especially at home, and idk if bacuna is that sort of player

for the counterattack playing a couple of runners/hacks and a calmer player like westwood is fine

typical villa scene, luna pauses 10 yards into opposite half, looks infield, sees nothing, sprints all the way into the corner and gets nothing

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Samuel Eto’o as part of the negotiations to acquire Willian for £30 million from Anzhi Makhachkala which will end their attempts to buy Wayne Rooney this summer.

The double signing could be announced later this week. The transfer of Eto’o, the 32-year-old former Inter Milan and Barcelona striker, is part of the agreement to sign Brazil midfielder Willian but Jose Mourinho does not want Eto’o’s involvement to become public until after Monday night’s Premier League game against Manchester United. Mourinho hopes that continuing the speculation over Chelsea’s interest in Rooney, who may start, will unsettle United.

from the Telegraph, therefore likely correct

Barring any phonecalls from jail, it looks like Spurs are signing Chiriches again.

Zidane wants to calm that frenzy surrounding the move by offering support to Bale - helping him to handle any pressure thrown his way.

'My door at Real Madrid will always be open for Gareth and during his first season he will need to use it. He was in the top three player in Europe last season, but he can reach even higher levels,' he added.

'He will get even better. We are looking at a guy who can be the best player in the world for the next four or five years.'

Ancelotti responded with strong words for his fellow newcomer to Spain, reminding the Argentinian of the 57m they spent on recruiting Neymar.

'(Martino) hasn't been here long,' he said. 'He still doesn't understand how football in Europe works nor how his own club works.'

Newcastle United director of football Joe Kinnear says their deal for QPR striker Loic Remy was solely his work.

Kinnear admitted to the Mirror: “I sanctioned the one-year loan deal for Loic Remy, and if it goes pear-shaped I will take responsibility for it.

“But if he scores goals and does well for us, Alan will be happy with our end of the deal; the player will be happy because he will come into contention for a World Cup place with France; and if both those things happen, Remy will go back to QPR as a World Cup player with a higher value than when he joined them, so everyone will come out of it well.”

90M Bale to be replaced by 30M Lamela, who's to be replaced by 12M Ljajic. Difference in talent massively dwarfed by difference in cost.
