How did you feel about that then?

Matt DC, Sunday, 4 August 2013 13:58 (twelve years ago)

God that Andy Gray bit is incredible. I actually miss him...in a way. The way he actually starts talking directly to Gerrard "If anyone ever doubted you"

Number None, Sunday, 4 August 2013 14:01 (twelve years ago)

not only the worst piece of commentary ever, but possibly the worst thing that's ever happened. Jim Beglin is guilty by association. Hell, all of Africa is guilty at that rate.

lads, I feel like I need acknowledge the absolute pasting Donegal just took from Mayo. 4-17 to 1-10, you've never see a beating like it. The fucking reigning All-Ireland champions.

Just had to get that out there

Number None, Sunday, 4 August 2013 16:48 (twelve years ago)

i'm sure one of them went 'sing, africa! sing!' didn't they?

Chris, Sunday, 4 August 2013 17:17 (twelve years ago)

xp Um, congrats? Or commiserations, I don't understand your geography.

I feel we could use an ILF non-football thread actually

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 4 August 2013 17:25 (twelve years ago)

no

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Sunday, 4 August 2013 17:29 (twelve years ago)

theres an afl forum

if #0 and deems want to recreate the mayo/donegal rivalry on ilx then there are plenty of other subforums to co-opt for gaa bantz

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Sunday, 4 August 2013 17:31 (twelve years ago)

I just had to make it real, you know?

Number None, Sunday, 4 August 2013 17:47 (twelve years ago)

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 4 August 2013 18:33 (twelve years ago)

xpost well theres the hurling thread on ile for GAA-related bantz. i didnt see the game myself, its an incredible result. this leaves me an excuse to show joe brolly's rant against tyrone. pat spillane's reaction is hilarious....

i had to put up with some neighbour cunt playing fiddle-dee-dee music in his garden all afternoon yesterday. fuck the lot of you

r|t|c, Sunday, 4 August 2013 19:29 (twelve years ago)

that pires goal is shit goalkeeping, truly awful. you don't have to be dmac in 5-a-side to finish that.

interesting gaa results indeed. dublin for the double would be weird/crazy. kinda conflicted in the hurling cos limerick winning would be amazing for my parents.

love the brolly rant, worth watching even if you've never seen a game, ever. can't tell what he's at, is it to raise his profile or just growing anger about lyfe?

Rooney/ozil?

:D@u!w/u (darraghmac), Sunday, 4 August 2013 23:49 (twelve years ago)

These reports on training sessions are a new low. It might be significant that Suarez appeared subdued today, before bringing off a smart save from Mignolet, but still unconvinced my life is enriched in any way by having read it.

I apologise for the above post btw

mls thread has article on dempsey transfer, takes deciphering

:D@u!w/u (darraghmac), Monday, 5 August 2013 19:59 (twelve years ago)

Andrew Johnson is hopeful that Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe will join him at Queens Park Rangers.

It is not known if Defoe, who joined Tottenham from Portsmouth in 2009, would be willing to drop down a division, but Johnson is optimistic he could be persuaded.

"We don’t need to speak how big the club is, the club’s massive. It’s got massive backing, the chairman’s been fantastic, it’ll be great to give him something back."

r|t|c, Monday, 5 August 2013 20:15 (twelve years ago)

massive m8 massive

reminds me, i've never heard it myself but the legendary official qpr 1995 season review vhs is said to feature commentator and partridgesque r's superfan tony incenzo taking it upon himself to bellow "ferdinand is massive, booyaka booyaka, incredible"

r|t|c, Monday, 5 August 2013 20:21 (twelve years ago)

anyway why is it every year for the last decade spurs try to fuck jd off, the boy's done nuffin wrong

r|t|c, Monday, 5 August 2013 20:22 (twelve years ago)

spurs are responsible for andy johnson quotes now?

mizzell, Monday, 5 August 2013 20:43 (twelve years ago)

aj is hardly the only source of speculation re jd's possible departure

r|t|c, Monday, 5 August 2013 21:10 (twelve years ago)

Repent of my earlier offers to have the lad on a p/exch with Benteke, but I concur with this sentiment. He'll never be a superstar but I think Defoe's pretty fucking good tbh and most Prem teams outside the top 5 or 6 would be lucky to have him

Third Rate Zoo Keepers With Tenth Rate Minds (Windsor Davies), Monday, 5 August 2013 22:04 (twelve years ago)

spurs fucked his life up tbh, if he's had gone arsenal in 2004 like he should have we'd be talking wright-level

r|t|c, Monday, 5 August 2013 22:42 (twelve years ago)

Hull want to sign Marseille's France midfielder Morgan Amalfitano, 28, on a season-long loan and are set to pay Evian £1.5m for Ivorian midfielder Eric Tie Bi, 23, after failing with moves for Sunderland's Lee Cattermole and Jack Colback and Stoke's Wilson Palacios.

Would have been quite some midfield.

ok, are any of the sources tottenham? seems harsh to suggest that spurs are somehow mistreating him because there are a lot of stories written about him.

Top 25 attendances worldwide - I know SS are a bit of a one-off, but that's quite a stat

‏@BafGomis
Thanks 4 all the support that u guys give me, sadly the decision to come join u is not my own its more complicated. Excuse 4 my translation

Looks like he's definitely, albeit reluctantly, going to Newcastle.

Inte Regina Lund eller nån, mitt namn är (ShariVari), Tuesday, 6 August 2013 11:33 (twelve years ago)

Is there any other way?

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 11:46 (twelve years ago)

He's a good signing imo, he's entitled to be a bit disappointed at where he's ending up

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 12:24 (twelve years ago)

He is. Remy / Gomis / Cisse should be a decent front three.

nice kit that

r|t|c, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 13:54 (twelve years ago)

Not a million miles away from Boca Juniors.

Inte Regina Lund eller nån, mitt namn är (ShariVari), Tuesday, 6 August 2013 13:57 (twelve years ago)

the stripe seems awkwardly placed. arsenal's yellow and blue away kit is nicer.

mizzell, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 13:58 (twelve years ago)

What is it? It's not going to work as an away kit.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 13:58 (twelve years ago)

Looks like something Torquay would be very proud of, palm trees and all.

Tim, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 14:00 (twelve years ago)

xp maybe it's just a kit for fun times. the "leisure shirt" was due a comeback imo, crucible of some the finest 90s designs

r|t|c, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 14:06 (twelve years ago)

That's the most appropriate kit imaginable for the Bobby Martinezation of Everton.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 6 August 2013 14:38 (twelve years ago)

Just imagine the happy smiles on the faces of Distin and Jagielka, wearing that kit as they let a mediocre West Ham forward clear on goal from halfway up the pitch.
