Argh this is why you should always read the story and just ignore the headline. My head hurts with the cognitive dissonance.

30. BBC and Jake Humphrey Fan 2 MINUTES AGOQPRs spending is outrageous & I hope financial fairplay rules will stop this sinking club from taking the game down with it. It's clubs like QPR, Swansea, Southampton & Norwich who are ruining the game with recent reckless spending on average players.
At least big clubs like Liverpool & Man Utd generate a lot of income for our country due to the tourist fans attending their games.

"BBC and Jake Humphrey Fan"
What does this mean? The poster was a fan of both the BBC and Jake Humphrey? This is a joint statement issued by the BBC and Mr J H Fan?

Anyone else up in here watching this Bayern - Barca game at the Allianz? Didn't catch all the team news, but so far I've definitely got:
Bayern - Thiago, Muller, Lahm, Ribery, Robben, Neueur Barca - Messi, Sanchez, Mascherano, Tello, Song, Valdes
PRe-season friendly it may be, but Guardiola's first game against Barca is not one to be missed in the current fb dry spell.

Sorry it's all Motown up in here now. See you Saturday.
― Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 16:45 (twelve years ago)
scratch Valdes, I just saw Pinto.
This is gonna be 40 mins each way, so as not to detract from the Women's semi final later tonight. Quite right too
― Third Rate Zoo Keepers With Tenth Rate Minds (Windsor Davies), Wednesday, 24 July 2013 16:47 (twelve years ago)
Well apparently the time change was actually forced by Barca turning up 45 minutes later. I'm a mine of incorrect information tonight
― Third Rate Zoo Keepers With Tenth Rate Minds (Windsor Davies), Wednesday, 24 July 2013 16:49 (twelve years ago)
*late, fuck it all, i'm off to watch the game
yet another example of Barca magnanimity later revealed as them being cunts

Napoli and Fiorentina having great summers, despite each selling their biggest star/talent. could make seria a quite interesting.
― mizzell, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:31 (twelve years ago)
maybe not interesting in that juve will still probably win the league, but fun to watch.
― mizzell, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:37 (twelve years ago)
Have to feel with Suarez being allowed to talk to Arsenal and Henry's guff this morning there's a hint of Liverpool preparing the waters to sell him for 40m undisclosed and act like they got more.
― Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:38 (twelve years ago)
Suarez to talk with Arsenal, gah
― Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:38 (twelve years ago)
Suarez will sure sink his teeth into those talks amirite
― Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:40 (twelve years ago)
I assume the talking was what the contract ambiguity was about. £40m starts a bidding war imo, no way is that the final fee.

Oh yeah xp. They're building a new stadium though, that might constrain things a bunch.
― Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:53 (twelve years ago)
they've already bought strootman and the croatian youngster jedvaji'm a bit nervous that strootman will restrict michael bradley's playing time leading up to the world cup.
― mizzell, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:54 (twelve years ago)
Asked about Arsenal’s interest, Rodgers said: “There’s no doubt that the market these days for top players is very small, so Luis will always be linked with top clubs.
“I think that the support he has always received from the supporters and the people of the city of Liverpool has been unrivalled. He’s missed a lot of games for the club for various reasons, and the people have stood by him like a son, and really looked after him.
“So I’m sure whatever happens in the coming weeks, that will be in his mind, because it’s certainly something you can never forget.”
― r|t|c, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:56 (twelve years ago)
they also signed maicon :/xp

I'm not Serie A connoisseur but am a bit bemused at Roma splashing the cash this summer. I thought all Italian clubs were struggling financially (except Napoli bcz of great sales).
Am still bummed Strootman chose to leave PSV for Roma tbh.

Tonight I'm getting really annoyed at the bid being reported everywhere as £40m + £1. Write it as £40,000,001 you morons, we get it already and the long figure looks so much cooler.
― Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 21:30 (twelve years ago)

Graeme Bailey @GraemeBailey 3mNorwich have now agreed terms for Celtic's Gary Hooper and we understand he will have medical there later today. QPR set to miss out.
― Number None, Thursday, 25 July 2013 09:45 (twelve years ago)
Has Hooper agreed the move, or is that Celtic accepting QPR's bid and leaving room to fluch out Norwich or whoever?― Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 24 July 2013 15:41 Bookmark Flag Post Permalink
