Third Rate Zoo Keepers With Tenth Rate Minds (Windsor Davies), Friday, 19 July 2013 17:03 (twelve years ago)

he has potential to be a mandzukic sort of player but dont think his technical/finishing upside is that high

the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 19 July 2013 17:04 (twelve years ago)

yeah i'm hoping damiao doesn't happen, too many bad omens: relatively late bloomer who's gone off the boil, third party ownership, agent who sounds like a harry potter bad guy.

mizzell, Friday, 19 July 2013 17:05 (twelve years ago)

spurs going back for soldado now, supposedly

mizzell, Friday, 19 July 2013 17:07 (twelve years ago)

soldja boy is a very fine player, smallish for an epl #9 but good in virtually every other category, excellent volleys, quickish feet, difficult to dispossess

rate him slightly higher than negredo

the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 19 July 2013 17:11 (twelve years ago)

kinda wish spurs would go for some lower profile dude. Vydra (21, championship player of the year) Philipp Hosiner (24, scored 32 goals in Austria last season). I have no idea if these guys are any good, but hopefully someone at spurs knows.

mizzell, Friday, 19 July 2013 17:15 (twelve years ago)

yeah it's gotta be soldado now

demba ba if rooney goes maybe... osvaldo, gomis, kiessling meh

not going for gomez was the balls up

r|t|c, Friday, 19 July 2013 17:19 (twelve years ago)

doesnt really work buying cheap cfs like that

the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 19 July 2013 17:20 (twelve years ago)

if they arent flexible wing/forward types then they wont get many starts and wont necessarily have the temperament to play well in 20 min sub appearances

mame biram diouf is a good example.....did very little at utd but given a starting role has become a good player

the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 19 July 2013 17:22 (twelve years ago)

osvaldo would be good but roma dont need to sell so £20mish, €20m at least

the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 19 July 2013 17:23 (twelve years ago)

cisse seems available.

mizzell, Friday, 19 July 2013 17:26 (twelve years ago)

What's going on with remy? Or would he not fit the bill?

Tito Vilanova was expected to step down as Barcelona coach on Friday night after suffering a further recurrence of throat cancer. Barcelona called an 8.30pm press conference at which they were due to make Vilanova's departure official. He will be temporarily replaced by the assistant coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia, known as Rubí, who joined the club from the Segunda División side Girona in the summer.

what makes a man start polls? (Noodle Vague), Friday, 19 July 2013 19:38 (twelve years ago)

dont think the sort of ppl who go to these things are particularly intelligent so after the franchise fee to the big rentier himself, their biggest expense is probably paying some oaf to sort out all of the angry plebs who didn't read the small print

the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 19 July 2013 20:09 (twelve years ago)

well yeah they are basically paying what i assume is a silly amount of money so some no-mark can tell them how to invest their money sensibly

Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Friday, 19 July 2013 22:56 (twelve years ago)

Sorry just read previous - standing down. Loan worse than a transfer tho, either cash in on him or don't.

Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Friday, 19 July 2013 22:59 (twelve years ago)

eh no one's going to spend money on him now, get his wages off the books while he basks in the mirage of first team fitba in a world cup year. then off on a free to barca as backup

r|t|c, Friday, 19 July 2013 23:07 (twelve years ago)

well, partial wages. he can't be on less than cesar is, likely more

r|t|c, Friday, 19 July 2013 23:09 (twelve years ago)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/19/jose-mourinho-chelsea-godfather

It is David Moyes at Old Trafford who draws the focus, a manager awaiting his first major honour and tasked with succeeding Ferguson, one of the greatest managers of all time. "Before I won the first trophy I had not won anything, so everyone is the same," said Mourinho.

[...]

Wenger's Arsenal, in contrast, have not lifted a trophy since Mourinho's first year in English football and, yet, he still considers them a threat. "They have their philosophy, and for some reason they do it. For sure, their manager does really good in the job. If not they wouldn't keep him. They will sign some players for sure to improve the team, and the manager brings stability. If he signs a new contract it means everything is comfortable and the board and the team know where they want to go. I think they are contenders."

"One of the most difficult things in the club is to create a victory culture, one where you walk through the front door and smell the success, smell the confidence, smell the self-esteem."

liverpool won't be smelling the self-esteem? (6.5/10)
