Flashscores is the bookies' service afaict, if they're paying out on it it must be right. The third must've been chopped off and I didn't notice. Normally you'd get derision from the home fans for that (we went in with your lot of course - you had a good few hundred there for some reason) but tbh it wasn't a particularly needly encounter.

oh damn i forgot all about b.g elokobi. good man to be having back
assume this scots tour is purely for the purposes of easing griffiths in gently
― r|t|c, Saturday, 13 July 2013 19:18 (thirteen years ago)
btw the boy was at first apprehensive of the presence of, and subsequently disappointed by the absence of, actual wolves - I think three might be a touch young to expect anyone to get excited about football as such
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 13 July 2013 19:34 (thirteen years ago)
Gorgeous George!
Still think Klata's posts on the ILF trolls thread are his finest work

It won't have escaped your notice that Charlton were rampant over St Mirren today - had I been in Paisley today you could've been benefiting from my wisdom instead

you had Graz_Entertainment, at least

Is Cisse really being frozen out at Newcastle for refusing to wear a Wonga-sponsored shirt? The papers say he has been barred from training with the team.

Oh you fucking clowns, Newcastle.

What do we know about Fulham's impressively-moustached new owner then?
― Matt DC, Sunday, 14 July 2013 11:11 (thirteen years ago)
What else can Newcastle do? If he won't wear the shirt, he's not much use to them.
― Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 July 2013 11:26 (thirteen years ago)
The new Fulham guy's supposed to have football/nfl synergies in mind, specifically moving the Jaguars to London. Quite how buying Fulham is supposed to achieve this I have no idea, the Cottage is hardly your typical nfl venue (top marks for 'quaint' I guess). West Ham might've made some kind of sense.
― Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 July 2013 11:34 (thirteen years ago)
They could do what Sevilla did when Kanoute wouldn't wear gambling adverts on his shirt - take them off.
Xp
― Inte Regina Lund eller nån, mitt namn är (ShariVari), Sunday, 14 July 2013 11:35 (thirteen years ago)
I didn't know about Kanoute. Did the whole team go without, or just him?
― Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 July 2013 11:37 (thirteen years ago)
Cisse's been wearing adverts for moneylenders for the past two years anyway
― Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 July 2013 11:38 (thirteen years ago)
Just Kanoute. They eventually found a compromise but he wore a plain shirt for quite a long time.
Advertising a bank offering 4% mortgages and advertising loan sharks offering 2670% rates isn't exactly the same thing.
― Inte Regina Lund eller nån, mitt namn är (ShariVari), Sunday, 14 July 2013 11:42 (thirteen years ago)
That's true but there's a non-trivial distinction between what Wonga do and what Virgin Money does and depending on Cisse's own personal beliefs that may make all the difference.

I couldn't work out from the BT website whether I'm entitled to their new BT Sport channel, so I phoned them up. You are entitled if you get your telly or broadband from them, as I do, but you have to register. You might need to buy an updated set-top box, which they will check for you. You can get the channels free in HD if you register for BT Infinity (free so far as I can tell) but you have to do so before the start of August.

Woo! Clicking on the mysterious blank headline pays off!

don't rly understand why barca seem to have been so keen to get rid of thiago. what do they do when xavi retires?
― Fanois och Alexander (Merdeyeux), Sunday, 14 July 2013 19:06 (thirteen years ago)
I don't think they could really stop him
apparently Utd and Benfica have agreed a fee for Garay though so that's...good
― Number None, Sunday, 14 July 2013 19:26 (thirteen years ago)
They could've started giving him game time, there're about eight midfield slots in that team.
Garay's good imo, you're doing alright there.
― Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 July 2013 19:33 (thirteen years ago)
he's good but it's basically the last area of the team that needs strengthening
― Number None, Sunday, 14 July 2013 19:38 (thirteen years ago)
at least Moyes has actually stated on the record that we need some midfielders. He can't go back on that now
― Number None, Sunday, 14 July 2013 19:39 (thirteen years ago)
Feel like he's on borrowed time already. Pellegrini's in crisis too now. Wenger cruising.
― Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 July 2013 19:45 (thirteen years ago)
Arsenal now offering £35m for Suarez. Why not go to forty? It's like they're afraid of succeeding.
Meanwhile Gerrard gets a new two-year deal. How does it work as players age? Do they get reduced wages, payments deferred for tax reasons, a pension pot or what? Surely he isn't getting paid more now than he was five years ago?
― Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 July 2013 22:06 (thirteen years ago)
Four stages of brand/product development iirc
― dub job deems (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 July 2013 22:08 (thirteen years ago)
they want higuain and this gives them take it or leave it leverage vs madrid

yeah i'm sure madrid will be bricking it
― r|t|c, Monday, 15 July 2013 00:13 (twelve years ago)
they are pretending that they now want higuain again
its weak stuff from both sides
― the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Monday, 15 July 2013 00:14 (twelve years ago)
that is, perez &c are pretending
im sure arsenal would take suarez for maybe a couple more million than their last offer but i dont see liverpool accepting it or suarez caring enough about arsenal to force it
― the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Monday, 15 July 2013 00:17 (twelve years ago)
suarez wants madrid but its not clear how much they want him
― the most promising US ilxor has thrown the TOWEL IN (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Monday, 15 July 2013 00:19 (twelve years ago)
madrid want 25m, wenger wants to pay 24.9m 76p, wenger waves 35m at an unobtainable player, can u guess what madrid say next?
― r|t|c, Monday, 15 July 2013 00:22 (twelve years ago)
He can't go back on that now
