do u think liverpool not buying him is attributable to raiola?

can't think why he'd treat brendan like a jehovah's witness at his door
― r|t|c, Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:22 (thirteen years ago)
Dortmund have found Raiola more accommodating is prima facie absurd
― The pathetic deluded pride that attends ignorance (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:26 (thirteen years ago)
there's never been any public statements from anyone that liverpool could get him, maybe they could pay the fee but dortmund have similar means and otherwise are far more desireable to the player
― The pathetic deluded pride that attends ignorance (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:28 (thirteen years ago)
Raiola's got it in for Liverpool, we never had a chance if he's been involved. He's a Roma fan who's never got over the 1984 European Cup final.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:30 (thirteen years ago)
I feel sorry for his client tbh
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:31 (thirteen years ago)
not just that they have a much better team and will be playing in the champions league for the forseeable future, but that he is (in theory) exquisitely suited to klopp's system, more so than gotze perhaps even if not so talented
mkhitaryan has better attributes for klopp though: he is faster, more efficient in transitions, ferocious work ethic, quite possibly more likely to pick up the goalscoring slack while the centre forward position is under review
― The pathetic deluded pride that attends ignorance (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:32 (thirteen years ago)
Him and Aubameyang between them are potentially a hell of a coup for Dortmund
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:35 (thirteen years ago)
i would like to see liverpool buy a player with similar directness ahead of gerrard/lucas/allen/whoever but someone they could feasibly attract in their current state ie not someone who has scored the highest number of goals in a single ukrainian league season while playing in midfield
aubemayang looks a lot like a younger torres to me.....hernandez type speed and finishing but tall and strong enough to play #9 alone
he hasn't done anything exceptional yet hence the midrange fee, but the upside potential is there
― The pathetic deluded pride that attends ignorance (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:37 (thirteen years ago)
eh karlsenblogs are all very nice and sensible but for all we know derek might have grown up in awe of ... his dad talking about the legends of the liver bird, plus epl pizzazz and whatnot. would hardly be the first time a unwise decision to come to england was made and it doesnt really seem so beyond the realms of possiblity to imagine our mino might have stepped in to rectify
liverpool are also a known uppity ballache for agents since the moores days iirc
― r|t|c, Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:40 (thirteen years ago)
5/1 on dortmund for the bundesliga looks p dece (speaking as a nonbetter)
― r|t|c, Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:44 (thirteen years ago)
Let's see: Derek's 24, that makes him about seven when Dortmund had their annus mirabilis - so yeah, with that and eastern cultural regard for Germany it's just about feasible that he was getting swayed by that rather than hoping Collymore might still come good or whatever. I hope so anyway, and that he's not just Raiola's patsy.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 6 July 2013 12:58 (thirteen years ago)
idk yr either baked or palsied if u believe a fiba player will be more swayed by shankly, rush, jamie redknapp etc than joining the second best team in europe with a perfectly suited coaching setup/tactical scheme
― The pathetic deluded pride that attends ignorance (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Saturday, 6 July 2013 13:05 (thirteen years ago)
torres was a rare instance of a player who seemed to buy into the mythos of the prospective club very heavily when he moved to liverpool,
he even had a ynwa tattoo while he was still at atleti
though more pertinently, liverpool/rafael benitez also happened be tactically and linguistically perfect for him
― The pathetic deluded pride that attends ignorance (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Saturday, 6 July 2013 13:12 (thirteen years ago)
Personally hope Derek and this so called "raiola" go to hell in a handcart.

behold the ne plus ultra of these sorts of stories
― r|t|c, Saturday, 6 July 2013 18:10 (thirteen years ago)
Having witnessed the incident, an outraged group of spectators turned on the referee. He was tied up, beaten, stoned and quartered. They then put his head on a stake and planted it in the middle of the pitch.
'these sorts of stories', wtf?
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 6 July 2013 18:26 (thirteen years ago)
the sort of things that end up in the observer's said and done column. time was you would pick up the paper to read about sepp blatter's expenses and ggi becali calling dan petrescu a rapist and maybe there would be a linesman kicking a cat or whatever. now it's executions, lynchings and genocides every other week.
― The pathetic deluded pride that attends ignorance (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Saturday, 6 July 2013 18:56 (thirteen years ago)
Remember when di Canio pushed the ref that time and he stumbled away a few steps then sort of fell over? Just as well the FA acted swiftly on that one.

I was reading about barbaric execution methods only yesterday as it happens - this covers a fair range of them. Can only assume they lacked the implements for blowing from a gun or death by elephant or it'd be even more grotesque.

oh you need the coup de grace though:
Cœlius Rhodiginus states that there existed among the Ancients a form of punishment known as “Cyphonismus" [...] “I note among certain people a regulation to the following effect—that any man who shall have insolently thrown contempt on the decrees of the law, shall be kept in fetters at the public place of execution for twenty days, naked and smeared over with honey and milk, to be food for bees and flies; and when these have done their work, he shall be dressed in women’s clothes and cast headlong down a cliff.”.

United appeared to have lost out on Thiago after Barcelona offered the Spain international assurances that he would receive regular game time. But according to a highly placed source it is understood that the chances of Thiago choosing United have been greatly enhanced, with the 22-year-old set to receive much-improved terms on his current £30,000-a-week contract.
sick of this guy already tbh
