sandro paulinho dembele lennon villa bale looks like tastyville to me
dembele probably needed a temporary downgrading from top top player to mercurial talent and paulinho would appear to create an allowance for that
still a lot riding on sandro though i think
― r|t|c, Monday, 1 July 2013 21:04 (thirteen years ago)
Would paulinho sandro play in brazil xi, are they quite similar?
ftr i have no probs with two sandros obv
― dj hollingsworth vs dj perry (darraghmac), Monday, 1 July 2013 21:05 (thirteen years ago)
i think sandro would potentially replace luiz gustavo for brazil?
― mizzell, Monday, 1 July 2013 21:07 (thirteen years ago)
agree with rtc's lineup, but would actually rather buy soldado than villa.

yeah paulinho doesnt sit, he's a rangy box to box/amc iirc

seems p rubeish to need calipers to determine that some oaf has spent four weeks in marbella with negligible exertion
― Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Monday, 1 July 2013 21:14 (thirteen years ago)
one concern with sandro paulinho dembele is that none of them are a really great passer, it would be primarily about countering with speed or giving it to the wings.
― mizzell, Monday, 1 July 2013 21:17 (thirteen years ago)
against teams were spurs have the majority of possession, holtby could be used over one of them i suppose.
― mizzell, Monday, 1 July 2013 21:19 (thirteen years ago)
villa even in his latter diminished state is worth snapping up, the all round instinct and intelligence still gives you something extra... besides his reputation ought to be a psychological fillip, the klinsmann vibe
soldado i probably havent seen enough of in la liga to adequately comment but idk i think of him as more direct, maybe more epl-ready, but also more limited and representing outright equal competition for defoe. imo if it's not villa then the adebayor replacement (damiao etc) is more important but otoh if it is to be primarily fast transitions on the counter then maybe they're eschewing the role entirely
― r|t|c, Monday, 1 July 2013 21:24 (thirteen years ago)
what's negredo like, i forget
i think he's similar to soldado but more handsome.

Belhanda has apparently had second thoughts about moving to the third-best team in Ukraine so might be back on the market.

BBC Sport understands QPR have agreed a £12m fee with Anzhi Makhachkala for Chris Samba.
The London club bought Samba from the Russian club in January for the same amount.

epl media saturation at any rate, I'm willing to believe he's now got 'leader of two of the epl's most prestigious clubs' at the top of his cv
― Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 2 July 2013 10:10 (thirteen years ago)
hard to believe any dodgy shenanigans went on with that deal.
― Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 2 July 2013 10:18 (thirteen years ago)
I'm surprised they've taken him back. Hiddinck suggested that he'd contacted QPR behind the club's back and left Anzhi without saying goodbye as soon as the deal went through. There were conflicting reports at the time though.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Anji" Remchukov refused to disclose the amount of transfer. According to him, the contract with Samba will be for four years. "Samba returns. he was willing. We do not mind. Plus guys asked for it. We are able to forgive our friends. Today, he runs medchek" - also said in his Remchukov " tweet. "

Is the deal Anzhi paying QPR £12m or the other way round? Because either way it's still pretty sweet for you.
― Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 2 July 2013 10:57 (thirteen years ago)
Куинз парк Рейнджерс
He's pretty popular with the Anzhi fans, i think, so that might make things a bit easier.

― Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 2 July 2013 11:05 (thirteen years ago)
They don't have that many travelling fans normally, iirc, as Makhachkala isn't particularly wealthy, but they get ok crowds at home games.

Just Sandro and Dembele were capable of overwhelming most PL midfields last season but obviously ran themselves into the ground. Pretty excited now.
Would still like a wide forward who can play on the right or CF though. We never get a full season out of Lennon and there's no one else, although Andros might be ready AVB just doesn't seem to fancy him that much.

If you have a manager who has already threatened to leave if he doesn't get his own way, and would probably jump ship when the first reasonably sized PL club offered him a job, having a fairly capable back-up plan already in place isn't necessarily a bad idea.
