― Ismael Klata, Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:17 (thirteen years ago)
from there you could get jazzy, show current knowledge and hate on qpr (was blackburn)
i thought and dismissed u2, they are actually barca upon consideration
real madrid are probably just the entire radio one playlist really

disposable this year's superstars that might have become interesting at 15 but instead chose a career path that led to peaking at 22 as a component in a wholly manufactured glitzfest that has no resemblance to the root industry, and defining that peak as having arrived at the big stage rather than as having anything to do with what you might do after achieving the platform
― dj hollingsworth vs dj perry (darraghmac), Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:20 (thirteen years ago)
Real Madrid might be Sting

― dj hollingsworth vs dj perry (darraghmac), Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:21 (thirteen years ago)
for radiohead we need a team that had a fantastic team of dashing 24 year olds then signed rafa and trap on a lifetime contract to manage them in a double act of hatred of anything beautiful
― dj hollingsworth vs dj perry (darraghmac), Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:23 (thirteen years ago)
Chelsea think they're The Who but really they're The Eagles
― Ismael Klata, Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:25 (thirteen years ago)

― dj hollingsworth vs dj perry (darraghmac), Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:26 (thirteen years ago)
It's a criticism of those who think The Who are it

still my fervent belief that not being able to find anyone better to hate than madrid is the ne plus ultra of poseurdom
Just because I've teams I hate more than Real Madrid doesn't mean I can't, or shouldn't, hate Real Madrid.
― Tim, Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:36 (thirteen years ago)
sorry i always confuse Dream Theater with Porcupine Tree
― for many people a really special folder makes a huge difference (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:38 (thirteen years ago)
madrid is a seductive temptress but they're so uninteresting to hate- so much so that i've just compartmentalised the objectionable stuff and take a detached interest in the process- chelsea p much at this stage too these days and i dont know when that happened tbh. citeh under mancini (lol had to think of his name rip) would've never gotten there and utd under ferguson were regressing since idk 2002
― dj hollingsworth vs dj perry (darraghmac), Thursday, 27 June 2013 12:47 (thirteen years ago)
I've never really hated Utd as such, it's always been about Ferguson, so this season is interesting waters for me.
Chelsea idk, you just get bored of hating them I think. Or else the EC win was our Nagasaki, no choice but to accommodate them after that. Mata-Hazard-Oscar appearing at just the right time to amplify the upward swing too.
― Ismael Klata, Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:12 (thirteen years ago)
r|t|c getting more and more objectionable as yeovil away approaches imo
― rockety communism (imago), Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:14 (thirteen years ago)
granted, birmingham city would be much more hateful than real madrid if they signed half the world's best players and had actual fascist coin in their vaults. millwall i've covered before - they're not really worthy of hatred, more amusement
― rockety communism (imago), Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:16 (thirteen years ago)
I don't really hate many football clubs - seems a weirdly transient thing to hate most of the time
― rockety communism (imago), Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:18 (thirteen years ago)
There's an area at my work for general personal maintenance - i.e. keeping umbrellas in and polishing one's shoes, basically. It periodically gets fresh newspaper put down on the floor. This morning I noticed there was a new clipping underfoot - a Telegraph report of Charlton 0-2 Chelsea. I'm pondering just how old the cleaners' stash must be.
― Ismael Klata, Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:21 (thirteen years ago)
September 18 2005, that's the answer. Also among the goals that day: Phil Jagielka for Sheffield Utd, Clark Carlisle (og at Watford), and Rob Hulse, who scored the only goal at Loftus Rd as Leeds beat QPR. Nicky Butt was sent off for Birmingham - 'Butt: petulance punished' is the caption.

All coin is fascist, or none
Actual title of my thesis
― dj hollingsworth vs dj perry (darraghmac), Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:41 (thirteen years ago)
fairly sure moyes will become despicable fairly soon, not fergie levels obviously but still.

fairly.
Theres a frisson of doubt but his despicability is almost certainly going to be directly related to his success, right

family friend though, I'm conflicted out on tjf
― Ismael Klata, Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:48 (thirteen years ago)
sort of. though i can imagine it being annoying if he's giving it the "manchester united football club" and they're in third.
― Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:48 (thirteen years ago)
Used to hate Liverpool a lot but they're so inoffensive these days and their fans so cowed and shadows of their mouthy selves that it's hard to anymore. Chelsea's players make them more hateful than they probably deserve because, when it comes down to it, I still think of them as a fairly insignificant West London club. Never used to hate Arsenal until I moved to London but now they are definitely my No. 1.
― Tommy McTommy (Tom D.), Thursday, 27 June 2013 13:51 (thirteen years ago)
I feel that way about Spurs. Don't mean present company.
― Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:02 (thirteen years ago)
I thought Stoke was the "my first most hated club" of the starter fan
― anonanon, Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:03 (thirteen years ago)
nah stoke are now the hipster's choice for devil's advocacy/sincere rootsy appraisal. or at least they were about a year ago, think the pendulum's swinging back past apathy now
― rockety communism (imago), Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:05 (thirteen years ago)
cardiff are thrice as hateful. they're going to be the big hate thing this season

oh Malky also scored or did something that weekend of yore, can't remember what, where or for whom
― Ismael Klata, Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:10 (thirteen years ago)
yeah i used to looooath cardiff but the soft spot for malky has put that on hiatus for now
arsenal and their fans in particular are a perpetual source of annoyance and rmde but idk about hate really
spurs i'm normally ok with but if i meet yet another one irl i might just snap tbh, idk if it's my social circle or my fragrant musk or what
― r|t|c, Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:16 (thirteen years ago)
did anyone see birmingham are now sponsored by an e-cigarette company.. sort of delightfully appropriate i thought. should have posted it on real england thread really
― r|t|c, Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:22 (thirteen years ago)
think i just find white hart lane incredibly grim. not that say upton park isn't but spurs feels more unpleasant. i also had a big run-in with their press officer a few years back.
― Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:26 (thirteen years ago)
how the fuck are cardiff spending 8m on this big danish lad when villa just got one off the same shelf for 1.5

I definitely hate individual players or managers more than teams, there's always a Mata or an Essien hidden in there somewhere I secretly want to root for
Except at Stoke, obvs
― not lazy but clowning (Suedey 2), Thursday, 27 June 2013 14:34 (thirteen years ago)
I'm surprised at the limited hatred felt for teams among the ILF commiunity. My hatred for many, many football teams is broad and deep, and runs from abstract resentment due to the behaviour of long-departed boardrooms ("the big five" as was are damned forever in my eyes for the formulation of this stupid Premier League and their gross and unreasonable abuses at the time and since) to very particular beef arising from personal indignity visited on me by visits to the clubs in question (the endless hours I sufered at the Withdean, Bristol Rovers' refusal to allow us ot get off the bus at their dump, that sort of thing).
Not to say I extend this hatred to supporters of these repulsive organisations, obviously. I've even been known to talk to Argyle fans, on occasion. At a push.
