everton and liverpool fans have highest number of arrests for racist offences

source?

Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 19 June 2013 16:13 (thirteen years ago)

there was a home office(i think) list a few years ago of arrests etc

ghosts of erith spectral crackhouse slain rudeboy (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Wednesday, 19 June 2013 16:15 (thirteen years ago)

i googled, out of curiosity, and the only thing i could find was an indian paper saying chelsea had most racist arrests, from a home office report about 2011 or thereabouts.

Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Wednesday, 19 June 2013 16:28 (thirteen years ago)

Only 23 arrests for racist or indecent chanting in 11-12 so it's statistically insignificant, but still Chelsea.

Chelsea 5

West Brom 2

no man is an islam (onimo), Wednesday, 19 June 2013 16:32 (thirteen years ago)

i think this was aggregated over a few years because the numbers were a lot higher than that

still, congratulations chelsea

ghosts of erith spectral crackhouse slain rudeboy (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Wednesday, 19 June 2013 16:48 (thirteen years ago)

Chelsea fans were proper fucking cunts in the early 90s, definitely the worst in the Premieship. They probably still are, just a more moneyed kind of scumbag.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 19 June 2013 16:49 (thirteen years ago)

well, well at Arsenal being second most racist club

Virgil van Dijk (born 8 July 1991) is a Dutch professional Fenian Hunskelper who plays as a tank for Celtic fc.

Looks like van Dijk is set for a medical with Celtic tomorrow. Anyone know any more than the wiki vandal?

good to see the newcastle united version of rigoletto is coming along well

Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Thursday, 20 June 2013 08:53 (thirteen years ago)

According to the Mirror, Llambias is meant to have resigned because Kinnear intervened in the free transfer he was organising for Douglas. Kinnear had never heard of him. They reckon Carr is going next.

О боже, какой мужчина (ShariVari), Thursday, 20 June 2013 08:55 (thirteen years ago)

Do you reckon Ashley just agreed to crash Newcastle as some kind of bet/Jack Donaghy manliness contest that he can't back out of now?

Matt DC, Thursday, 20 June 2013 09:27 (thirteen years ago)

That Mirror story can't be right, that would be impossible dickishness surely? What are they going to do with the current squad though? If they couldn't get it together under suave Pardew and his relatively sophisticated regime, wth are they going to be like under this clown?

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 20 June 2013 09:37 (thirteen years ago)

The current Newcastle squad > Pardew.

Matt DC, Thursday, 20 June 2013 09:48 (thirteen years ago)

otm

should we bin tapping? (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 June 2013 09:49 (thirteen years ago)

Like I know he had problems with injuries and selling Demba Ba midway through but he is still a very limited and naive manager. Obviously Kinnear is a lumbering disaster but Pardew's impending martyrdom will be thoroughly undeserved.

Also, given their current playing staff, if Newcastle were going to bring in an ageing Director of Football with serious health problems it should probably have been Houllier.

Matt DC, Thursday, 20 June 2013 09:52 (thirteen years ago)

obv Pardieu wd've been found out on his own terms but Kinnear seems so useless/crazy at this point i almost find myself getting angry on behalf of Toon fans. there shd be a law about owners being allowed to do this stuff to their club.

The drone that was played caused panic and confusion (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 20 June 2013 09:55 (thirteen years ago)

otm wtf is this

should we bin tapping? (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 June 2013 09:57 (thirteen years ago)

it does illustrate the idea that plenty of millionaire businessmen aren't savvy technicians who understand finance better than other people but just wankers who dropped lucky tho

The drone that was played caused panic and confusion (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 20 June 2013 10:05 (thirteen years ago)

Truth bomb. No other way to explain how e.g. Tony Fernandes gets played for a naive clown.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 20 June 2013 10:06 (thirteen years ago)

noodle vague otm x2

Hearing moyes confirmedare we hearing m (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 20 June 2013 10:18 (thirteen years ago)

I think they probably understand their own markets very well but know fuck all about football. I don't think Fernandes is an idiot by any means.

Ashley just got lucky though, I mean "sell loads of cheap sportsware and sell out while they going's good" isn't exactly rocket science.

Matt DC, Thursday, 20 June 2013 10:40 (thirteen years ago)

Find that Douglas story almost impossible to believe, but I dunno if that's just illustrating my own naivety about the way these things are done. Surely there are enough football people around the higher end of the club who know that signing a highly-thought of centre-back from FC Twente, mentioned as a potential Dutch international etc. hardly represents an Ali Dia move?

Kinda loving this story for its car crash potential, but I do feel sorry for the Newcastle fans. Who the fuck is this goon actually going to want to sign if all this is true?

Intrigued by the idea that Ashley has decided that he wants rid of Pards but doesn't want the hit to his wallet involved in actually sacking the guy. If so, I for one hope that AP hangs on in there for grim death, any problems Newcastle encounter this season are going to be blamed firmly on Kinnear and Ashley anyway.

Matt DC otm re: Pardew's martyrdom, this will be a hell of a boost to his standing with the fans following last season's performance. Ashley may want him out, but he's actually engineered a situation where Pards somehow looks like an unfairly marginalised figure mistreated by the owners. If Carr goes too then AP will be the only member of senior management left representing common sense and professionalism and sanity.

Third Rate Zoo Keepers With Tenth Rate Minds (Windsor Davies), Thursday, 20 June 2013 10:40 (thirteen years ago)

pards left west ham under a simlarily convenient cloud, iirc?

should we bin tapping? (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 June 2013 11:17 (thirteen years ago)

again, i don't buy that wrecking the club to the extent imaginable under kinnear's toddleresque pawing is in any way a preferable option to paying off the incumbent staff (all of whom seem to be performing as well as newcastle have any right to expect, with the exception of pardew, and even then hardly to a level worthy of apocalypse)

it's simply wtf, it's not even coherent enough for conspiracy.

should we bin tapping? (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 June 2013 11:19 (thirteen years ago)

and, again, reports frequently state that pards & co are on defined payoff in the event of sacking, not the 8 year terms under which they are contracted.

should we bin tapping? (darraghmac), Thursday, 20 June 2013 11:20 (thirteen years ago)

Might be as simple as Ashley being the sort of boss who rules by reshuffle and keeping underlings cut down to size, and puts faith in creative chaos to see everything right? Idk though, you'd think he'd remember that that failed epically just four years ago.

Maybe he enjoyed the Championship year and fancies pocketing the parachute payment and having another go?

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 20 June 2013 11:22 (thirteen years ago)

creative chaos was mentioned v briefly in a ?guardian? piece on this the other day, like again fine if you have to shuffle out 300 words on a topic that you're not interested in, but look you can't buy it as applies to irl multimillion pound high-profile decisions, short of accepting that ashley is sectionable and/or an incredible cokehead
