16 minutes of injury time in the first half has to be a record right?

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 4 May 2013 23:08 (thirteen years ago)

note the little push from the leeds swine that caused it

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Saturday, 4 May 2013 23:08 (thirteen years ago)

did sean dyche have a high school prom to go to after the match

r|t|c, Saturday, 4 May 2013 23:57 (thirteen years ago)

sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that if we were gonna sack Saunders he'd be gone by now

Rowdy Rathore (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 5 May 2013 08:40 (thirteen years ago)

nah the way it works see is first you let him have the whole summer to build a crap new team, then you sack him after 5 games

r|t|c, Sunday, 5 May 2013 09:05 (thirteen years ago)

stop it, it hurts

Rowdy Rathore (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 5 May 2013 09:14 (thirteen years ago)

no, that's *next* summer

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 5 May 2013 09:17 (thirteen years ago)

Is no one watching this? Definitely guilty of being a tourist in the lower leagues over the last month or so and I can't pretend to know what I'm talking about re: the teams and players involved. But this could be my cue to start paying a bit more attention next year. This is totally enthralling!

Penos after 3-3 in normal time, (Swindon back from 3-1 down, equaliser in 94th minute), red card in extra time etc. etc. Glorious stuff.

Come on Swindon!

Windsor Davies, Monday, 6 May 2013 18:13 (thirteen years ago)

That's what other leagues are for tbh. You wouldn't want to live in Benidorm all year round.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 6 May 2013 18:29 (thirteen years ago)

FUCKING HELL M8s.

oppet, Monday, 6 May 2013 19:22 (thirteen years ago)

Nice one Oppet / geddon the Bees.

Tim, Monday, 6 May 2013 20:22 (thirteen years ago)

Yes, thank you. Our defence does some terrible things but we're a good team. It's a long wait til the final. Bloody hell.

Oh don't get me started. I was watching in the pub, surrounded by people who didn't really care either way. I was pacing around. It was really all quite embarrassing really. After the last penalty an old drunk at the next table snapped out of his coma and said "your body language was a case study in sociology" and hugged me. What a moment.

Our penalty record under Rosler has been absolutely terrible, even before the Doncaster game, so I really wasn't expecting us to go through. Yeovil beat us twice this season.

At least I've finally put this behind me

Nightmare. I took a ball down to the local pitch last weekend to try out some penalties, to see how easy it'd be to hit at half-whack into the corner. Even without any pressure and no keeper, it's really, really bloody hard. Mine were all sailing way high, extremely wide, or into the middle of the goal - I don't think I got near the corner once.

I can totally understand the roundhead technique of just wellying as hard as you can and hoping the keeper dives out of the way.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 6 May 2013 21:59 (thirteen years ago)

Saunders out!

FC United have just won their play-off semi, will be losing the final (again) on Friday

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 20:50 (thirteen years ago)

Have they seen off the Glazers yet?

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 7 May 2013 20:51 (thirteen years ago)

Still working on that one

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 20:53 (thirteen years ago)

Dreaming of the Conference North and the plum away fixture at....

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 20:55 (thirteen years ago)

Bishop's Stortford.

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 20:57 (thirteen years ago)

Your local team, no? I hope you feel guilty for that game at least.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 7 May 2013 21:00 (thirteen years ago)

Wait, conference *north*? I must be thinking of somebody else.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 7 May 2013 21:01 (thirteen years ago)

No, due to some kind of quirk it would appear the north starts about 30 miles north of London (though only in the realms of non-league football). Vauxhall Motors are in there too (which I think is in Luton, but I could be wrong). Stortford is easily reachable from my bit of London AND they were my actual childhood local team's local rivals.

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 21:06 (thirteen years ago)

Vauxhall Motors are from Ellesmere Port. Think the weirdest Conf N/S quirk was when Gloucester somehow ended up in Conference North one season. Think their ground got flooded that year too.

William Bloody Swygart, Tuesday, 7 May 2013 22:16 (thirteen years ago)

Really? I could have sworn I saw Harlow v Vauxhall Motors in the 80s.

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 22:25 (thirteen years ago)

No, wait, it's coming back to me and I'm talking shite. I think Vauxhall sponsored the league in the 80s.

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 22:38 (thirteen years ago)

And my Dad had a Vauxhall. With a motor in it. And I once caught a train from Sheffield to Luton.

The Horse Rustler and the Rustler's Horse (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 7 May 2013 22:39 (thirteen years ago)

joked to my old man about Carragher getting the Wolves job thanks to Scouse Mafia connection. oh how we laughed, slightly nervous like.

read some idiot commenting on the Express and Star today saying it like it's a good idea.

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 07:56 (thirteen years ago)

seriously tho the list of names being touted is pretty grim as you'd expect. got a feeling we'll make another left-field appointment but what we badly need is Jez Moxey to get sacked and a Chief Exec or Director of Football who knows the game installed. Morgan hasnae got a clue about appointing managers.

think i'd be okay with Coyle or Steve Davis, out of the names attracting betting money. most of the rest are *shudder*

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 08:01 (thirteen years ago)

Of the relatively left-field candidates, Tim Sherwood might be worth a punt.

хуто-хуторянка (ShariVari), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 08:45 (thirteen years ago)

that'd be interesting. can't see us stumping up the money to lure him away from Spurs tho, especially with the salary cap. which again begs the question why we're paying that clueless slug Jez Moxey so much money.

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 08:50 (thirteen years ago)

spurs point blank refused sherwood permission to talk to blackburn earlier this season iirc

mark venus (assistant to mogga at boro now) is probably the out of nowhere candidate

davis is the new o'driscoll, not gonna happen

tricky appointment this, all yr "progressive" type managers (coyle, ferg jr, robinson) have had worryingly flaky spells, all the ship-steadiers are grim as fuck (jackett best out of a bad mcleish megson bunch). coyle's had enough time out to look better than the rest i guess, altho robinson's mk dons play notably good footer despite the damning underachievement

curbs? does he actually want to work

r|t|c, Wednesday, 8 May 2013 10:43 (thirteen years ago)

some saying millwall talking to warnock now btw, wouldnt that be spesh

r|t|c, Wednesday, 8 May 2013 10:44 (thirteen years ago)

i don't think Curbs seriously wants to work unless maybe in London. Robinson i wdn't mind either but hmmm. Mark Venus wd be crazy. can't disassociate Ferg 2.0 from his lacklustre playing career which is unfair but hey.

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:01 (thirteen years ago)

Mark Venus wd be crazy in an interesting way I meant.

Got a feeling if there's no movement in the rest of the management set-up then we're gonna end up with a shit-kicker tho.

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:02 (thirteen years ago)

ferg's a weird one, does some eyecatching stuff for posh (great transfer record, fun attacking football) but relegated twice now and was totally shit at preston. i guess he could get you promoted again at least tho

r|t|c, Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:10 (thirteen years ago)

i'd take anybody but one of the ship-steadiers tbh and wdn't worry too much about coming straight back up - whatever anybody says we have got plenty of expensive dead wood with years on its contracts yet

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:12 (thirteen years ago)

curbs to millwall amirite

have a nice Blog (imago), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:20 (thirteen years ago)

Wolves midfielder Karl Henry is desperate to survive the Molineux clear-out he knows is coming in order to make amends for the “disgrace” of relegation.

and not because he knows no other club would pay him a quarter of what he's robbing from us

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:22 (thirteen years ago)

i heard o'hara thumbsed-up "40k ur having a laugh" the other week

r|t|c, Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:25 (thirteen years ago)

just realised today btw, the season we went into the Prem under McCarthy, Norwich and Southampton were relegated to League 1

xp O'Hara is hilarious, Hollywood cunt who's had his pride hurt and his Mrs keeps getting into Twitter bust-ups with the fans

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 8 May 2013 11:27 (thirteen years ago)

next season starts 3rd august, bloody hell

r|t|c, Thursday, 9 May 2013 13:55 (thirteen years ago)

a monolithic testament to shiftlessness and lost productivity (dan m), Friday, 10 May 2013 20:36 (thirteen years ago)

if they're level at the end of the second leg yeah. away goals don't count double.

Koné 2013 (Noodle Vague), Friday, 10 May 2013 20:37 (thirteen years ago)

ah two leg playoff, got it
