I wore this out & about in Scotland on the day of England v Germany at the last World Cup, just to see what would happen. It was fine - some kids chanted 'Germany, Germany' at me as I walked across a park; and then a family actually opened their front door to cheer me as I passed.

I think that arsenal shirt commemorates 20 years of nike not really giving a shit and throwing something together and saying "will that do?" before Puma take over

Having said that I really like some of the nike shirts, I've got 3. Really like the away kit from this season. Was there some kind of FIFA directive that banned international teams from having more than two colours or did I imagine that? I can't think of any reason why they would want to do that, but that doesn't mean they didn't do it.

i don't think they banned them but they want teams to be unicolor to help out the refs or some shit.

That Guardian thing shows Spain 82 as kind of the watershed for non-traditional kits coming in, the Umbro braces on the Belgian kit make me all nostalgic. USA 94 is just lol90s. After that there is a definite theme for each tournament, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. I also like that Portugal have had a completely different kit every time.
