And speaking of Sven at Leicester - not his fault, guv!

The news that the BBC will be showing Women's Super League highlights has brought some delightful people out to play:

Why don't the BBC air more Championship games? My team, Peterborough United, are better than any woman's team.

pretty much the ur-kind of lol but mostly sad

This is the closest relegation fight in British football history, and we're in it. But an excellent win today. 8 away wins this season, 4 home

i had a look at an addicks board the other week, the pessimism was staggering

r|t|c, Saturday, 9 March 2013 18:07 (thirteen years ago)

fwiw we have very negative fans for some reason (the scars of 2008/9, probably). I haven't thought we'll go down this season but there are no dead ducks just yet!

I have even posted lengthy anti-booing screeds to the main CAFC board, my logic being that it doesn't help anybody you stupid cunts

Worse than booing, really, though, is the stick given out every time a pass is misplaced. USELESS POWELL

fuck off and never watch us again

Blackburn rovers were league champions in 1995

mister borges (darraghmac), Tuesday, 19 March 2013 11:47 (thirteen years ago)

Oh gosh, I assumed that was just a propos of general rubbishness. They're what, two points clear of the drop?

Nine teams from that season are no longer in the top flight. Blackburn, Leeds and Forest in the top five!

belated lol at this deano quote before the cardiff game:

"And another thing that has pleased me is in Ladbrokes, we’re not one of the three favourites to get relegated and they don’t normally get it wrong.

"They have looked at our squad and thought ‘they will get out of it’ and that’s what I’m thinking."

Can't load that pic but I assume it's the collapsed wall behind our away end? Seems oddly typical that fate would find a way to make us look bad just as Argyle and Torquay seem to be fighting for the privilege of relegation. Bah.

Tim, Sunday, 24 March 2013 10:01 (thirteen years ago)

your lot going up this season? know you can't possibly say at this stage but what's your hunch

delete (imago), Sunday, 24 March 2013 11:05 (thirteen years ago)

Beaten in the playoffs is my guess. Two of the promotion places look nailed-on. The pack for the third is very close. Tisdale says that one of the teams will win five or six of their remaining seven or eight games, which seems right, and he wants that to be us, which also seems right, but I don't see any particular reason why it would be us rather than (say) Burton or Rotherham. We have a centre-mid injury crisis and a worrying tendency to having very bad days.

My uninformed assessment is that League 2 is rubbish this season, though I don't know how anyone (including myself) goes about measuring stuff like that.

Tim, Sunday, 24 March 2013 11:59 (thirteen years ago)

Ah ok. You may be interested to know that Matt Taylor looks at home in the Championship, and that Dan Seaborne is not a left-back. Oh and that Ben Hamer will either play for England or throw one in his net every third game depending on whom you ask

delete (imago), Sunday, 24 March 2013 15:11 (thirteen years ago)

Also dunno if L2 is rubbish but I'm fairly certain that this is the best Championship there's ever been. L1 can't be far off either.
