Bristol have improved dramatically under O'Driscoll tho, it's the same old "everyone beats everyone" comedy division we know and love
― a phenomenological description of The Eagles (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 5 March 2013 22:44 (thirteen years ago)
pandemic yr kinda testing my gut feeling, possibly irrational, that outwardly supporting more than 1 club is in poor taste
I mean, wanting to do well is one thing, but claiming ownership of two tribes - rly not sure about that

damn billy got forest rollin, some fucked up fairytale all round but i'm liking it
dougie's bolton creeping on the come up too (trying to think of another defender with a scoring rate like craig dawson btw?)

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft: "Tomasz Cywka's work ethic has been incredible. The guy has been out of the team and he's been someone who has kept patience, been resilient and has epitomised everything I believe a human being should be."
Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy: "They're brilliant, they're a great bunch, they really are fabulous. I was really proud of the way they went about their job."
well now, i used to be a season ticket holder back in the old Goldstone days, so really they're the only club I've ever been an actual supporter of ;) But true enough LFC results are the only ones that have the capability of effecting my mood.

I'm pretty sure I've read pandemic talking about his history with the B&H elsewhere, can't remember which thread though. The one where talk about how we wound up supporting our various clubs, maybe?
Yeah, Championship in thrilling mess shocker. Looking at the front-runners, I've got an awful feeling there's gonna be loads of ends-justifying-the-means pieces about various club owners come the start of next season - whether it's That Awful Man at Cardiff, the transformation of Watford into Udinese B, the Barmby-slaying bollixes at Hull... I can't remember if Leicester's mob are particularly evil, but they did hire Sven once, which is never the greatest thing to have on the CV. Oh god, and Forest are being resurgent.
So we're pinning our hopes on Kevin Phillips doing One Last Job at Palace (which, even in other circumstances, would be awesome), and then... erm... Gus Poyet's Carnival of Playing The Right Way, and maybe Boro suddenly learning the difference between their arse and their elbow. Or Resurgent Bolton.
Then at the bottom... Yeah, no-one's gonna mind if it's Birmingham, are they?

trying to think of another defender with a scoring rate like craig dawson btw?
Hooiveld was pretty spectacular last season. So there's a portent.
― William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 6 March 2013 02:02 (thirteen years ago)
And speaking of Sven at Leicester - not his fault, guv!

The news that the BBC will be showing Women's Super League highlights has brought some delightful people out to play:
Why don't the BBC air more Championship games? My team, Peterborough United, are better than any woman's team.

This is the closest relegation fight in British football history, and we're in it. But an excellent win today. 8 away wins this season, 4 home

fwiw we have very negative fans for some reason (the scars of 2008/9, probably). I haven't thought we'll go down this season but there are no dead ducks just yet!

I have even posted lengthy anti-booing screeds to the main CAFC board, my logic being that it doesn't help anybody you stupid cunts
― c'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le beurre (imago), Saturday, 9 March 2013 18:18 (thirteen years ago)
Worse than booing, really, though, is the stick given out every time a pass is misplaced. USELESS POWELL

belated lol at this deano quote before the cardiff game:
"And another thing that has pleased me is in Ladbrokes, we’re not one of the three favourites to get relegated and they don’t normally get it wrong.
"They have looked at our squad and thought ‘they will get out of it’ and that’s what I’m thinking."
