Brian Straus ‏@BrianStraus

Hearing Tony Beltran and Justin Morrow are only outside backs on roster. No Bocanegra. Jermaine Jones only German-American coming.

good luck usa

Kaiser von Amerika ‏@FakeKlinsmann

Excited to trot out in this lineup in the stadium named after U.S. Soccer legend Dick Sporting-Goode (I assume).

damning imo. a great read.
certainly not any less concerned about qualifying!

bertrim hapaz (anky), Tuesday, 19 March 2013 19:27 (thirteen years ago)

The more I think about it, the more I think there is a certain amount of clickbait/confirmation bias to that article. Which is not to say there isn't important info there for US fans, just that a whole lot of people are finding exactly what they want to hear (and exactly what they have been posting on BigSoccer for years, regardless of coach) in it.

a monolithic testament to shiftlessness and lost productivity (dan m), Tuesday, 19 March 2013 20:01 (thirteen years ago)

yeah i kind of agree, even though the artivle does an alright job pointing out that disharmony is found in every team.
but i feel like the bocanegra example could be seen the other way. so he was dropped, that sucks, but asking him to be involved in the team talk somehow makes it worse? shouldn't he want to contribute any way he can?

mizzell, Tuesday, 19 March 2013 20:34 (thirteen years ago)

Seeing analysis calling for a back 4 of Beasley, Edu, Gonzalez, Cameron. It's kind of sad that that's about the best lineup to be had there.

nice to see holden back. don't see how this team is going to do much of anything next year in brazil.

wmlynch, Thursday, 30 May 2013 02:13 (thirteen years ago)

Benteke on the bench ffs. If England had Jelle Vossen he'd be starting every game atm.

Windsor Davies, Thursday, 30 May 2013 10:41 (thirteen years ago)

I didn't get to watch more than 5mins of this as I was busy losing my mind over the Stanley Cup playoffs but I agree there doesn't seem to be much of a plan and 2014 is looking like a wash, if they even get there.

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 2 June 2013 20:05 (thirteen years ago)

i am still recovering. that was amazing.
five +/- thoughts from century link field (like the journalists do)
1. top of the hex baby
2. michael bradley is such a stud
3. really impressive tifo. kinda funny they adapted ECS & TA chants, but better than U-S-A over and over.
4. seeing jozy and dempsey move off the ball was so impressive.
5. a journalist i follow who has been to 35+ games in the c-link press box said that after jozy's goal was the first time the press box shook. i lost my voice screaming after it. that stadium holds in the sound like no place else.
6. WOOOOOOOOOOO
7. do i go to c-bus for dos a cero? i'm seriously considering it. i wanna go to kc too. thought i had the bug before but man do i have it now. brazil? maybe. time to start planning?

anky, Wednesday, 12 June 2013 22:01 (twelve years ago)

looked awesome last night. way to do it seattle!

mizzell, Thursday, 13 June 2013 02:26 (twelve years ago)

7. do i go to c-bus for dos a cero? i'm seriously considering it.

I went in 2009, it was pretty awes. I actually think Cbus would be a better trip than KC.

Jozy's goal was so fuckin great. I found myself wondering what Charlie Davies would be doing under Klinsy's reign. :/

ok, i am getting in: gold cup portland ticket purchased, flight to cbus booked

anky, Saturday, 29 June 2013 18:04 (twelve years ago)

booked my place near the stadium, getting hotel carter vibes from the reviews:

Rooms ok. Stained linen. Tiny pillows.. broken floor tiles in bathroom. Only one ice machine for entire hotel.. and it caught on fire. So no ice.

I knew there was not too much to expect for this price. However, besides stained sheets and moldy smells, bad cable and poor wifi, I did not expect bloodstains on the floor in front of the night reception

This is a very shity place u have to walk to the office to get your towels they brought us pilows n told us to bring them back when we check out beds where too small toliets broken tub dirty

The next morning I was very itchy and had little bumps on me.
