surprised it took him this long tbh, he was considering this a fortnight ago iirc?

hopefully he'll get Wenger or Mancini's job.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 18 February 2013 19:54 (thirteen years ago)

West Ham maybe more likely - Big Sam is still waiting on a contract offer.

played better second half by the sounds of it. Seb missed a sitter, which is an axiomatic Wolves line now tbh. although i was against Saunders i've come round a bit, you certainly cdn't point the finger at him over the shower he's inherited or the lack of imagination of the owner. Deano has been pleasingly ruthless with players most of the fans know are shit, but he still has a lot of shit to offload before we can hope to have much of a squad. i hope he's kept on even if we get relegated. the next acid test will be players in and out over the summer.

we could just shade stopping up. this was always going to be a hiding to nothing and it sounds like we shd've been 2-2 at least.

tochter tochter, please (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 February 2013 16:10 (thirteen years ago)

i watched most of the leicester game and (besides sharper strikers) it seemed you were really crying out for someone experienced to put their foot on the ball in the middle and just calm it, too much psychological rollercoaster. although lol how many sides can you say that of in the champo tbf

i'd guess o'hara is a particular disappointment

r|t|c, Sunday, 24 February 2013 16:17 (thirteen years ago)

robbie savage sagely advises bradford "you might as well get beat 4 or 5 now, have a go"

r|t|c, Sunday, 24 February 2013 16:25 (thirteen years ago)

savage also daringly calling him mishu

means little bear in polish so that's nice

r|t|c, Sunday, 24 February 2013 16:28 (thirteen years ago)

matej vydra translates as "matty otter" just fwiw btw

r|t|c, Sunday, 24 February 2013 16:29 (thirteen years ago)

O'Hara's not properly fit I don't think. i can't tell whether he's not interested in the Champo or whether he needs a better enforcer than Henry behind him. a little of both i suspect. his more Hollywood instincts need a manager prepared to keep him on a leash anyway.

tochter tochter, please (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 February 2013 16:29 (thirteen years ago)

oh lol what thread am i on

Speculation links raven with move away from tower

William Bloody Swygart, Tuesday, 26 February 2013 02:25 (thirteen years ago)

This Cardiff guy:

"Have they achieved any success under this bluebirds brand?" [Tan] asked. "So why do we hold onto something that hasn't achieved much success?"

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 28 February 2013 09:30 (thirteen years ago)

should apply the same logic to the England team

tochter tochter, please (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 28 February 2013 09:32 (thirteen years ago)

This yet has the potential to be the blackest farce of our times. Should poll that actually.

Tonight on the Football League Show, James Richardson did the summary for the Port Vale game. His commentary on Doug Loft crashing home an equaliser from 25 yards: "THWACK! Liquid football!"

draw away to the bottom club not good enough. Clinging to the play off place.

Bristol have improved dramatically under O'Driscoll tho, it's the same old "everyone beats everyone" comedy division we know and love

pandemic yr kinda testing my gut feeling, possibly irrational, that outwardly supporting more than 1 club is in poor taste

I mean, wanting to do well is one thing, but claiming ownership of two tribes - rly not sure about that

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft: "Tomasz Cywka's work ethic has been incredible. The guy has been out of the team and he's been someone who has kept patience, been resilient and has epitomised everything I believe a human being should be."

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy: "They're brilliant, they're a great bunch, they really are fabulous. I was really proud of the way they went about their job."

well now, i used to be a season ticket holder back in the old Goldstone days, so really they're the only club I've ever been an actual supporter of ;) But true enough LFC results are the only ones that have the capability of effecting my mood.

pandemic, Wednesday, 6 March 2013 00:31 (thirteen years ago)

I'm pretty sure I've read pandemic talking about his history with the B&H elsewhere, can't remember which thread though. The one where talk about how we wound up supporting our various clubs, maybe?

Yeah, Championship in thrilling mess shocker. Looking at the front-runners, I've got an awful feeling there's gonna be loads of ends-justifying-the-means pieces about various club owners come the start of next season - whether it's That Awful Man at Cardiff, the transformation of Watford into Udinese B, the Barmby-slaying bollixes at Hull... I can't remember if Leicester's mob are particularly evil, but they did hire Sven once, which is never the greatest thing to have on the CV. Oh god, and Forest are being resurgent.

So we're pinning our hopes on Kevin Phillips doing One Last Job at Palace (which, even in other circumstances, would be awesome), and then... erm... Gus Poyet's Carnival of Playing The Right Way, and maybe Boro suddenly learning the difference between their arse and their elbow. Or Resurgent Bolton.

Then at the bottom... Yeah, no-one's gonna mind if it's Birmingham, are they?

William Bloody Swygart, Wednesday, 6 March 2013 02:01 (thirteen years ago)

trying to think of another defender with a scoring rate like craig dawson btw?

Hooiveld was pretty spectacular last season. So there's a portent.
