The U.S. will play Jamaica in a World Cup qualifier at the National Stadium in Kingston on Friday -- a place known to opponents as The Office since "no one wants to go to the office." But as Tropigol.com explains, this isn't your typical office (unless you work at High Times magazine):

That atmosphere can be a bit intimidating and quite unique for international sports since there's the pungent scent of marijuana that has been known to permeate from the crowd. During the 2001 World Cup qualifiers, U.S. players said they could smell the drug as a cloud of smoke hovered over the crowd on a sunny Saturday June afternoon.

"They say when they come there, they smell marijuana," [Jamaican midfielder Dane] Richards said.

this is gonna sound corny as fuc but here goes: i've been getting high (outside) and going to sounders games by myself for about a year and i CANNOT believe how much more, tactically, i've gotten out of the games. off the ball movement, width, 1v1 matchups, tactical shifts, all are more clear. and yeah it could be that i'm going by myself (not concerned if gf/friend is bored), watching more in total, whatever, but man, i suggest it, one hitter quitter and sit and ~~watch~~.

when we went to the grand opening of red bull arena in 2010 there were some massive bluntz circulating in the stands. in retrospect I can't believe we didn't get thrown out/arrested.

didn't get a lot out of that tactical-insight-wise beyond "damn I wish we had joel lindpere" and "oh shit we are going to suck this year".
