good luck in proving that allegation. He hasn't even provided any evidence which is a pity. Woulda been lols if they were stripped of 9-in-a-row.

Here's a link for you from this very thread.

ailsa, Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:12 (fourteen years ago)

i dont trust the SFA/SPL/SFL etc to do the right thing.

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:18 (fourteen years ago)

We'll see. I'm not sure you can brush this under the carpet.

ailsa, Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:21 (fourteen years ago)

indeed, we'll see.

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:24 (fourteen years ago)

You're on the 'nothing to see here, move along please' camp despite oodles of evidence to the contrary though, right? iirc, you didn't think Sion would be booted out of Europe for fielding ineligible players either. You might want to google Neuchatel Xamax, btw.

ailsa, Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:35 (fourteen years ago)

oh shut up i didn't say that

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:48 (fourteen years ago)

Oh, sorry, when you said good luck proving wrongdoing and expressed doubt that any governing bodies would act, I took that to mean you thought nothing would be found and nothing would be done. Evidently you meant something else. My bad.

ailsa, Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:56 (fourteen years ago)

so being allowed straight into the SPL is heavily punished is it? fuck off you cunts
xp

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:56 (fourteen years ago)

i said i dont trust them to do anything like stripping them of titles. but you carry on reading what you want to read

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Sunday, 4 March 2012 13:57 (fourteen years ago)

Goodness. I knew him a little bit - a good guy.

Wasn't sure what thread to put that on.

A BIG JOE JORDAN TYPE OF POSTER (onimo), Monday, 5 March 2012 02:15 (fourteen years ago)

Not sure i believe that one, purely because of the training ground being referred to as Milngavie, when I would expect either Murray Park or Auchenhowie. Still, fingers crossed :)

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 08:43 (fourteen years ago)

Auchenhowie is in Milngavie, isn't it? Probably fake though. I just noticed the "Neil Alexander/first team" teaser on the right :)

A BIG JOE JORDAN TYPE OF POSTER (onimo), Monday, 5 March 2012 12:20 (fourteen years ago)

It's just outside of Milngavie, but I wouldn't expect it to be referred to as Milgavie, that's all.

BBC twitter dudes reporting that there's some sort of wage deferment plan going on just now in place of redundancies, which doesn't seem economically viable in the long term to me.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 12:39 (fourteen years ago)

read earlier that Dunfermline were paid today, 85 minutes after criticising the idea of a newco entering the SPL. Coincidence?

A BIG JOE JORDAN TYPE OF POSTER (onimo), Monday, 5 March 2012 12:46 (fourteen years ago)

I don't get this deferment thing at all. Surely that's just making the players creditors as well?

Ally staying classy:

It's not my job, I'm not making anybody redundant, I'm not telling anybody they have lost their job.

Very managerial of you.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 13:04 (fourteen years ago)

aye it's weird he keeps getting to say that. if i was a journalist i'd ask some straightforward easy question like
"so you are saying that if your playing budget has to be reduced 70% you want a non-football person to decide who remains in your team?"
and
"you're happy to lose players who might help you secure second place as long as you don't look like the bad guy?"
and
"how the fuck will you manage what's left given that you're already dropping more than a point a game to Celtic with a full squad on full pay?"
and
"you really don't have a fucking clue do you?"

A BIG JOE JORDAN TYPE OF POSTER (onimo), Monday, 5 March 2012 13:29 (fourteen years ago)

Carlos Bocanegra has been tweeting some inspirational guff about surrounding yourself with positivity this morning. Can't help thinking the lad's in the wrong job, or at least employed by the wrong people.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 13:42 (fourteen years ago)

Still, a friendly against Portsmouth to save both clubs sounds like a brilliant plan...

please strip them of all of their titles APART from the season Motherwell finished second kthanksbye

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 16:29 (fourteen years ago)

ahh wait its post 98. n/m

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 16:33 (fourteen years ago)

The SFL can look at pre-SPL stuff as well, presumably? Whether they do or not is up to them, I guess?

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

well hopefully, just not at this point. Is this investigation to do with the big tax case evidence rather than hugh adam? Would lol so hard if they lost 9 in a row.

If they dont get stripped of the titles then it will be a disgrace.

How many of their titles did they win by more than 10 points? I could see them doing a 10 point penalty. Still , if they do go back further, they would lose 9 in a row if they deducted them 10 points as they beat aberdeen last day of season.

anyway just rambling

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 17:02 (fourteen years ago)

This is to do with second, undisclosed, contracts as opposed to the big tax case (which is a matter for HMRC). I believe the correct procedure is to turn all results of games featuring ineligible players into 3-0 defeats, can't see why they would just deduct them 10 points?

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 17:19 (fourteen years ago)

I mean, aiui, the two things are related, presumably the EBT contracts weren't disclosed to the appropriate bodies as contractual payments, but the tax avoidance is a matter for HMRC, the breach of SPL rules is a matter for the SPL. Any punishment from the SPL would relate to SPL rules separate from any HMRC findings. I believe it could be possible for them to win the big tax case for correctly administering the EBTs and still be in breach of SPL rules re registering of contracts.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 17:27 (fourteen years ago)

I think so. They don't seem necessarily to have anything do with each other, except obviously that they're to do with the same thing.

Ismael Klata, Monday, 5 March 2012 17:33 (fourteen years ago)

Their 9 in a row ended in 1997 btw, so that'd still be intact even if all SPL titles were stripped.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 17:48 (fourteen years ago)

Oh, you said about going back further than SPL, sorry, scanning on phone. I don't think the margin of victory makes any difference to whether titles are stripped though.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 17:55 (fourteen years ago)

no i was just wondering if they would deduct 10 points a season as punishment which would mean they still win some. i didnt know about the 3-0 rule

rangers should be relegated to div 3 then if its proven they cheated.

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 18:11 (fourteen years ago)

Why? Why shouldn't they be kicked out and have to duke it out with yer other clubs who want a fair go at the league?

3-0 defeats are kind of standard for cheating, are they not (see Sion v Celtic for example)? I reckon it'd be simpler to just strip them of their titles though rather than fuck about with historical league tables.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 18:21 (fourteen years ago)

strip them of the titles AND relegate them to div 3. i hope ebt's are a big club only thing as i dread to think what the accountant W@tson had in place in the 30 years he ripped off was in charge at accies

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 18:31 (fourteen years ago)

hmmm is 1998 the year the spl started? so the SFL would need to investigate the previous years, is that right?

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 18:32 (fourteen years ago)

ahh yep 1998 it started. right spl you bunch of cunts who relegated accies for players striking for not getting wages. do the right thing this time. peter donald you bastard

*goes off to rant*

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 18:33 (fourteen years ago)

*SFL not spl

*goes to rant this time*

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 18:34 (fourteen years ago)

EBTs are perfectly legal if used properly.

I'd throw them out completely if they keep trading but are found to have cheated. Fuck keeping them in the system, seriously. Uefa might also want a wee look over their participation in any of their competitions if they have been playing improperly registered players.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 18:39 (fourteen years ago)

if i was a Celtic-minded (and not dead) lawyer looking at this i'd be working out how many champion's league campaigns they were possibly robbed of, not to mention SPL titles, and how much that cost the club.

A BIG JOE JORDAN TYPE OF POSTER (onimo), Monday, 5 March 2012 18:39 (fourteen years ago)

every club should get extra cash for finishing 1 place higher. Not gonnae happen though.

fuck deathcore and metalcore (Algerian Goalkeeper), Monday, 5 March 2012 18:47 (fourteen years ago)

Why not? I suggested that way upthread (or on the other thread), or possibly somewhere else entirely. Might never get the money, but worth the principle of trying.

ailsa, Monday, 5 March 2012 18:56 (fourteen years ago)

i agree
