this is the most domestically succesful, highest spending, highest profile, current champions of a league going into administration. this makes it bigger news than motherwell or dundee for obvious reasons. above and beyond that rangers' egregious tax dodging sort of makes this more of a story. even if i didn't care about football i would be getting wound up about this, another large company getting away with ripping us all off during the worst financial crisis of my lifetime.

Gretna 2008 are in the East of Scotland League. If Nu-Rangers did have to start on the bottom rung, I'm not sure where they'd go, South of Scotland League? Not that the powers that be will allow that to happen as Michael Kelly shows.
