would be a success imo

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 15:36 (fourteen years ago)

at this stage i'd be half interested in a mass auction of bale vdv modric et al just to see krancjar pienaar and thudd again

Yeah i know they're injured

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 15:38 (fourteen years ago)

i always forget pienaar is one of yours now

pandemic, Friday, 11 November 2011 15:49 (fourteen years ago)

ya, tho i can't decide is he cover on left, right or for parker tbh.

Second string, in my head, reads l-r

krancjar, thudd, pienaar, nobody

Would quite like a backup rm obv

Sandro fit should be 1st xi but not for parker in current form so i dunno

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 15:52 (fourteen years ago)

is bentley still technically yours or did you get rid? re back up RM, or should that be back up to the back up RM?
Maybe Harry will do a Bale with Walker and shunt him forward?

pandemic, Friday, 11 November 2011 15:53 (fourteen years ago)

true for walker, tho tbfttl he's actually doing ok at the df side of his job this past while. Still love corluka though.

Yeah bentley i suppose. Pity about that twat, worse than losing a talent through injury.

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 15:56 (fourteen years ago)

wait shouldn't pienaar be where nobody is and that would mean the space in the middle is sandro? normal back-up w/ potential to push dudes in the first xi imo.

GOIT BUZZ TOYS (a hoy hoy), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:01 (fourteen years ago)

Think everyone big will stay in the transfer window but by the summer it's Champions League or the break-up of this team.

Matt DC, Friday, 11 November 2011 16:04 (fourteen years ago)

modric will probably go whatever happens, maybe bale too

The Green Path of Hope is formed (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:14 (fourteen years ago)

We totally should try and Sol Modders, whatever the price.

GOIT BUZZ TOYS (a hoy hoy), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:17 (fourteen years ago)

ya i think so, but this summer was good, chelsea will bid big and early and hopefully the other big boys took note too.

I don't think pienaar, vdv nor krancjar are up to scratch on the right tbh, not as first choice cover, certainly

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:17 (fourteen years ago)

I keep thinking I've accidentally clicked the same thread twice with this and the Bale thread.

grandpa aaron knows how to live (onimo), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:17 (fourteen years ago)

walker surely xp

The Green Path of Hope is formed (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:18 (fourteen years ago)

this will have been the bale thread surely

The Green Path of Hope is formed (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:18 (fourteen years ago)

lolimo

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:20 (fourteen years ago)

bale to barca could work

guardiola is difficult to predict tho, last yr's third choice left back adriano was playing in some sort of roving attacking midfield role the other day

The Green Path of Hope is formed (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:28 (fourteen years ago)

still uncertain why they havent made replacing puyol the #1 priority but whatever

GOIT BUZZ TOYS (a hoy hoy), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:37 (fourteen years ago)

I think Guardiola's position there is something like "it doesn't matter if we've got the ball."

grandpa aaron knows how to live (onimo), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:38 (fourteen years ago)

they wanted to buy thiago silva but weren't prepared to pay what you have to pay to buy probably the best central defender in the world from silvio berlusconi

The Green Path of Hope is formed (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:40 (fourteen years ago)

Is Thiago Silva really the best in the world right now? Doesn't seem right.

boxall, Friday, 11 November 2011 16:42 (fourteen years ago)

i'd think so

it's not a crowded field atm now the lúcio/nesta/ferdinand/samuel generation are on the way out

The Green Path of Hope is formed (nakhchivan), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:43 (fourteen years ago)

he hardly ever gets booked, so he's either really really good, or he just doesn't tackle anyone.

pandemic, Friday, 11 November 2011 16:43 (fourteen years ago)

Mertesacker hardly ever gets booked ...

boxall, Friday, 11 November 2011 16:45 (fourteen years ago)

he is the third category of player who is too slow to get near enough to opponents to actually foul them

pandemic, Friday, 11 November 2011 16:46 (fourteen years ago)

motherfuckers be bitchin bout bale talk in other threads just sayin

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:50 (fourteen years ago)

Pique/Silva would be a beast. Vidic a bit too old to invest in maybe. Pepe plays for the other guys. So... yeah, Thiago Silva I guess. Sahko? Hummels? One of these young upandcomers mayb be worth looking at. Either way, 'we have the ball a lot' and hoping puyol never retires is a tactic that will eventually get found out imo.

GOIT BUZZ TOYS (a hoy hoy), Friday, 11 November 2011 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

the latter part, sure

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 17:04 (fourteen years ago)

feel that bassong could rly do a job at barca tbrr

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Friday, 11 November 2011 17:05 (fourteen years ago)

thiago silva is beautiful

sonderangerbot, Friday, 11 November 2011 17:12 (fourteen years ago)

I think Rami and Badstuber are better than Sakho and Hummels but it's probably too early to say.

One thing is certain, Gareth Bale is not among the world's elite central defenders.

boxall, Friday, 11 November 2011 17:24 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah but Barca are playing Mascherano there at the moment. They clearly don't care

Number None, Friday, 11 November 2011 17:30 (fourteen years ago)

I think he's been excellent at CB, was much better than Pique against Athletic Bilbao last weekend.

boxall, Friday, 11 November 2011 17:31 (fourteen years ago)

I didn't think he was that great tbh but i only had half an eye one the game. Also i hate him

Number None, Friday, 11 November 2011 17:32 (fourteen years ago)

one month passes...

id guess he needs to improve his instinct for finding space before playing as a goalscoring attacking mid/support striker 'on the reg' cuz it gets so much more congested playing there

but there aren't many players who have played that position in that way.....someone like julio baptista maybe...kaká had both the full-throttle athleticism and more classical #10 playmaking/dribbling skills

yaya touré can be played there quite effectively for 60-70mins before he stops being able to run

i thought ménez could be developed into that role but he seems to be more of a winger now

The Triumph of the Will High (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 3 January 2012 14:53 (fourteen years ago)

i hope it doesnt happen. but if it does, what happens to vdv? or are they going to play w/ 2 #10s?

I am Newgod (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 3 January 2012 14:58 (fourteen years ago)

Pretty sure the "fluidity" of the 3 in Tottenham's current 4-2-3-1 is Redknapp trying to circumvent a VDV hissy-fit about being played on the right.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 3 January 2012 15:00 (fourteen years ago)

idk but everything changes pretty quickly, just thinking in the longer term

the chances of him playing in a tottenham team managed by redknapp with rafael van der vaart in 2013 = ???

The Triumph of the Will High (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 3 January 2012 15:02 (fourteen years ago)

5%

vdv, bale, lennon and modders will all still be there tho imo

I am Newgod (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 3 January 2012 15:08 (fourteen years ago)

not even lennon tbh

DeLonge and Winding Refn (darraghmac), Tuesday, 3 January 2012 15:46 (fourteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

sayin

i'd love to but i'm on break (darraghmac), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 13:05 (fourteen years ago)

that he's the best british player since scholes?

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:19 (fourteen years ago)

when you say 'since'

(govtname)mac (darraghmac), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:21 (fourteen years ago)

since, in time

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:23 (fourteen years ago)

cuz scholes died in july 2011

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:24 (fourteen years ago)

if you play "outstanding" backwards it says 'paul is dead i killed him'

(govtname)mac (darraghmac), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:26 (fourteen years ago)

was trying to think of an epl player that deserved european xi acknowledgement- and i'm not necessarily saying bale does- came up with vidic, imo, and van persie if it's a calendar year thing.

that it?

(govtname)mac (darraghmac), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:27 (fourteen years ago)

dont think id include any

vidic maybe

The term “hipster racism” from Carmen Van Kerckhove at Racialicious (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:30 (fourteen years ago)

kompany? rvp?

Number None, Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:36 (fourteen years ago)

oh wait you said van persie

Number None, Wednesday, 18 January 2012 23:36 (fourteen years ago)

silva/piqué, messi
